Punta Cana Excursions & Tours
Isla Saona is a 42 square kilometer oasis off the southern coast of the Dominican Republic. Originally called "Adamanay" by the Taino Indians, the island was renamed by Christopher Columbus during his second voyage to the Americas in 1494. The name, "Saona," commemorates his friend Michele da Cuneo, from Savona, Italy. This is one of the most famous beaches in the country, known for its white sands, turquoise waters, and tropical palms. We will take you to the island in a speedboat that includes a stop at a natural pool with transparent waters in the middle of the sea. When we meet on Saona Island, you will have many options such as: swimming in the calm waters, visiting the open bar, taking a nap in a beach hammock, playing volleyball, enjoying a delicious typical lunch or walking along the coast. Most likely, you will do everything!

Great trip finding Turtles and Star Fish
Had a great day turtle and starfish watching. Everything was arranged and ran smoothly. Staff were really kind and helpful and even came into the sea to replenish our drinks👏🏻 The only negative and its not the fault of this company is the amount of plastic and litter on the beautiful beaches. Maybe each tour operator should take some recycling bags do a bit of a collection and then somehow get the local authority to collect the full bags and slowly it will go.

A perfect day is right!!!!
From start to finish, this experience was EXCEPTIONAL. I spent weeksssss researching private day trips to Saona Island, as I had been there previously for my honeymoon & we did the group experience which was fine for us but I hated how long it took to pick up all the guests from their hotels and knew I wanted a different experience going back for a women's retreat that I was leading. From easy communication, stress free and not just on time but early pickup from our villa, in a nice & clean ice cold van, to the INCREDIBLE boat helpers. We had the captain, a bartender and a guide/photographer. They tended to every need and beyond and understood that we wanted privacy away from the crowds and they gave us just that! They found us starfish to hold (safely under the water) and brought us through mangroves where we saw turtles and stingrays!!! Then the VIP lunch on a secluded side of the island was DELICIOUS, the chicken was INCREDIBLE! And we enjoyed the fresh cracked coconut drinks too! Then we lounged under the sun, swam, had massages under the palm trees and bought some beautiful local jewelry. This was all WAY better than my previous overcrowded experience!!! Then we stopped at one more side of the beach to swim before heading to snorkel with the most stunning rainbow and angel fish!!! Core memory unlocked for sure!!! Then we were brought safely back to the boat landing and brought back to our villa again. We decided to buy the pictures taken because they were beautiful and in my opinion beyond worth the price for our memories they captured for us! 100/10 recommend booking this excursion with this company!!!! Thank you again!!!!!

Nice trip
We had a lovely time on our semi private tour, Stanley and the crew were brilliant. Only snag was we did not get the cake and bubbles we paid for (was refunded) I done this as a suprise for hubbys 60th but did not ruin the day. Saona island is lovely.

Best Way to See More of the Island!
We did a few boat excursions while we visited Punta Cana, and this was our favorite! From booking the team communicated with us to ensure that they had all the details for pickup. Pickup at our Airbnb was seamless, driver arrived on time and in a nice van with plenty of room for a large family. He was very nice and provided us with lots of info and recommendations. The team on the boat was excellent, Captain Gallo, Chupichipi and Jason were invested in us having a great experience. Tailored our excursion to make the most out of our time. They also managed to find places where there was less seaweed and/or less crowded so that we can enjoy. Really the best way to get around the island is via a speedboat! You will definitely enjoy!

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private cost?
+
Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 81 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private?
+
Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Perfect Day at Saona Island by Speedboat - Completely Private start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
