Great half day wine and cheese with Reno tours

A great day out with Reno to the winery, which was very enjoyable. The trip to the winery was about 45 minutes from Paphos Harbour and we arrived to be shown around the process and then taste some great wines (white roses and reds). They were great quality and very reasonably priced and we ended up buying nine bottles. Very friendly people at the winery and a great location with spectacular views. We know was very informative as we drove and showed us lots of different sites and some interesting facts about Cyprus. We also met a lovely couple on the tour as it was just four people on the mini bus. Then we went onto the halloumi cheese factory for some goats cheese and sheep cheeses and we were shown the cooking process . The food was great, (paid 10 euros each) but I do feel it would be better if a better selection of drinks was offered. It was just lemon squash or water. It would be good to have an option of some cola, beers and wine here too. We moved on and did a half hour drive to the monastery with lots of sites to see along the way in the high hills and villages. The monastery was interesting and we toured the underground cellars with lots of wine brewed by the monks Great views from the courtyard too. It was a great day out with a good mix of Travel and visits and we were back at our hotel by 2 pm. Thoroughly recommend this tour and the friendly driver and to guide we had.

Response from the operator: Dear Jon and Tracey, Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a detailed and wonderful review! I’m delighted that you enjoyed the winery, halloumi experience, monastery and the beautiful scenery along the way. I also really appreciate your feedback regarding the choice of drinks at the halloumi tasting – suggestions like this help us improve the experience for future guests. It was a real pleasure spending the day with you, and I’m glad you also enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of our small group. Thank you for your kind words and recommendation, and I hope to welcome you back for another Cyprus adventure! 🍷🇨🇾 Reno G

Culinary & History Gems of Cyprus

Today, Dec 29th, my wife and I joined the Wine and Halloumi Experience Taste Cyprus Flavors in the Mountain, and it was a delicious exploration of wine and cheese! The tour operator took us through an amazing stunning mountain scenery. First stop - Tsangarides Winery Our tour started with a visit to a lovely vineyard where we got to taste some excellent local wines - Xynisteri and Maratheftiko. Second stop - Axylou Halloumi Cheese Factory Next up was the Halloumi tasting, and I must say, it was a highlight! The host showed us how this traditional cheese is made and then enjoyed several preparations of Halloumi along with delicious accompaniments. Third stop was a surprise stop offered by the tour operator – Elaiones Stagona Olive Oil Farm Have you tasted Cyprus olive oil? If yes, you know I am writing about a symphony of flavors and aromas coming together in a well designed bottle... if no, please go visit Stagona while in Cyprus. Fourth stop - Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery Tour ended on a spiritual tone with a visit to Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery - an Eastern Orthodox monastery dedicated to 'Our Lady of the Golden Pomegranate' (Panagia Chrysorrogiatissa). The monastery was founded in 1152 by monk Ignatios who discovered a miraculous icon of the Virgin Mary off the shore of Paphos... legend has it that it was thrown into the sea in Asia Minor during the iconoclastic period and drifted by the waves all the way to Paphos. The tour was well-organized, allowing for plenty of interaction with both the tour operator and other participants. We parted the tour enriched with new knowledge about Cyprus' gems - culinary and spiritual.

Response from the operator: Dear Niki, Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and beautifully written review. We are truly delighted to hear that you and your wife enjoyed the Wine and Halloumi Experience – Taste Cyprus Flavors in the Mountain and that the day felt both delicious and enriching. It’s wonderful to know that each stop left a strong impression—from the wines at Tsangarides Winery, to the hands-on Halloumi experience, the surprise olive oil tasting, and the peaceful visit to Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery. Your description perfectly captures the essence of what we aim to offer: a journey through Cyprus’s landscapes, flavors, traditions, and spirituality. We’re especially pleased that you appreciated the organization of the tour and the opportunity for interaction, as creating a relaxed and meaningful experience for our guests is very important to us. Thank you again for choosing to explore Cyprus with us. We hope to welcome you back on another journey to discover even more of the island’s hidden gems. Warm regards, Aurelian Gheorghian

    A great private-by-chance excursion

This was a magnificent half-day trip! Elena, the co-owner, came to pick us up exactly at the planned time. The company's bigger tour bus was fully booked to go somewhere else, but she decided to take a sedan and come to pick us up, rather than cancelling the trip. So we had a private trip! It is a nice one hour drive up to the mountains on windy roads with great scenery. The first Tsangarides winery is rather small and we were the only guests there - could have been the early morning or perks of off-season. We were given five wines to sample and we got small cheese plate to share, needless to say that both were excellent. Afterwards we had a tour in in the winery before buying a few bottles home. Next stop was the Axyloy Halloumi factory. I think it is a small family-owned business, as the premises were small and I did not see many stuff. We were given a variety of cheese and olives to sample, which were naturally delicious. The only problem was that were already full of eating the cheese platter. From there we got a pack of halloumi. The last official stop was a small monastery. It has great views to the valley and you can walk in the inner yard of the monastery. You can enter the small chapel and a small shop to buy souvenirs. There is also a small cafe. Monks seen: zero. We had some time left from the allocated duration so Elena took us to another winery, Kolios. It also has good views but the place is more industry-scale tourist spot, although it was almost empty too. Wines were good too, but the portion was slightly less than in the first place. Their specialty is is caves where they keep their wines, but it was closed because of off-season. It was a really nice trip to remember! Elena shared lots of information about the area and Cyprus in general, and gave tips where to eat in Pafos. We did also share our histories and a bit of daily lives at home.

Response from the operator: Dear Kari and Kaneli, Thank you so much for your beautiful and detailed review! 🌿 It was a real pleasure having you on our tour, and I’m truly happy to hear that you enjoyed the experience — from the scenic mountain drive to the wineries, the halloumi tasting, and the peaceful monastery visit. We always do our best to make each trip special, no matter the season or group size, and I’m delighted that you appreciated the personal touch and stories shared along the way. Your kind words mean a lot to us and will surely inspire other travelers to explore the authentic flavors and traditions of Cyprus. Warmest regards, Elena & the Cyprus Winery Tours Team 🍷🇨🇾

Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paphos.

How much does Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit cost?

    +

Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paphos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paphos is not rushed.

Is Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paphos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paphos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paphos and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paphos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Paphos?

    +

On Outty we rank every Paphos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Blue Lagoon Cruise with Sightseeing from Latchi Harbour, Troodos Mountains Villages: All Inclusive Food & Wine Day Tour, Wave Dancer Half Day BBQ Cruise - All Inclusive. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Paphos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Paphos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Paphos Wine & Halloumi Tour with Winery and Monastery Visit?

    +

Included: In-vehicle air conditioning; and pick up and drop off travelers. Not included: Alcoholic beverages; and Meals. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
