Horrible place.
The experience was horrible. The place is totally run down with toilets that are out of order and birds that seem to target your every move. The beach is small and the sand is coral rocks so you HAVE to wear beach shoes or you hurt your feet. No towels are supplied and the beach beds are additional $$. The loungers supplied are corralled behind a fence. Everything has been painted in white to camouflage the bird droppings. What you see is now what you get. The club roof has holes in it and is blowing away. Not worth the $350. Only nice thing is the people. The whole boat was talking about this negative experience.

No Bueno
Small Beach, flies everywhere and everything feels dirty... I couldn't wait to get back to my hotel. The birds/ vultures are circling around like a horror movie. Avoid.
Response from the operator: Agradecemos que haya compartido su experiencia. Sus comentarios son muy importantes para nosotros, ya que nos permite identificar oportunidades de mejora. Nos gustaría invitarlo nuevamente en una próxima ocasión para brindarle una experiencia más satisfactoria.

Very run down, not as shown in pics
We paid for what was advertised as an all-inclusive experience, but unfortunately the reality was very different. The photos used to promote the property were misleading and did not accurately reflect its current condition. The resort appears quite run down, and the beach area is much smaller than expected. In addition, many amenities that we assumed would be included came with extra charges. We were required to pay additional fees for beach beds and even for towels, which was disappointing given that we had already paid for an all-inclusive package. Overall, the experience did not meet the expectations created by the advertising, and we feel the value received was significantly below what was promised. I would not choose this property again and would encourage future guests to carefully verify what is actually included before booking.

Not worth the money
Cons 1. If you don’t want to sit in the back where they dump the sewage, you must pay for a chair or bed. 2. There is just a tiny strip of sand( beach) 3. The music they play all day is techno. 4. All the beers were 120 ml. 5. The ride back was very rough. Water was pouring into the boat. Sit in the middle. 6. Chicken was dry 7. The cocktails you receive is like kool-aid. Pros 1. Water was a nice color and warm. A little rocky. 2. Server was nice . 3. No vendors We made the best of it but overall we could have stayed by the pool.

Wonderful stay in Paradise
My husband Chris and I spent three wonderful nights at Pao Pao and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. Our room was spotless and beautiful with a terrace overlooking the pool. Pao Pao is also a natural reserve of wonderful birds, very pretty and scenic. The resort and the island are very peaceful and ideal if one wants to get away from the business of life and truly recover from stress. We would highly recommend staying overnight as the staff is extremely kind, helpful and attentive, they couldn’t pamper you more! We loved the beach club atmosphere with chilled music on until 3 pm and the quietness of the evenings and nights in communion with nature. It’s perfect place where to do snorkeling as well. The hotel offers different activities, some for a charge and some free. We’ve really enjoyed all of them and we’d particularly recommend the night tour of the bioluminescent plankton in the Enchanted Lagoon-very adventurous to go out on the speedboat at night and magical to see the glitter in the water. We also really loved the tour of the tiny village of Okira on Isla Grande, very interesting to see the real life of the community. Before coming to Colombia, I was a little apprehensive of the speedboat journey, as I’d read the sea can be rough. However, we had no problems with the speedboat both on the way in and out. It was a solid and comfortable boat and the process was easy and smooth at La Bodeguita. We even had a lovely English speaking guide with us, José, we made us feel at ease as soon as we arrived at the pier. The great staff of Pao Pao met us as soon as we arrived on the island to collect our bags and give us a welcome drink. Thank you to every member of staff for all your hard work and help! A special thank you to the truly lovely and well organized reception Jhon and to our really great guide Eric, who went above and beyond for us. Our only regret is not staying for four or five nights.
Response from the operator: Dear Frances, We are truly delighted to read your wonderful review and to know that you and your husband Chris enjoyed such a pleasant stay with us at Pao Pao Beach Club. It fills us with joy to know that you appreciated the tranquility of the island, the beauty of our natural surroundings, and the warmth and dedication of our team. Thank you very much for highlighting our activities, especially the bioluminescent plankton tour and the visit to the village of Okira we are glad these experiences allowed you to connect with the magic and authenticity of the Rosario Islands. Your kind words for Jhon, Eric, José, and the entire team mean a lot to us. We will make sure to share your comments with them, as they are the heart of our service and will be thrilled to know their efforts made your stay special. We sincerely hope to welcome you again in the near future hopefully for four or five nights next time! Warm regards,

Why this scores 42
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cartagena.
How much does Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $138 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cartagena usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cartagena is not rushed.
Is Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 74 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cartagena, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience?
+
Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cartagena can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cartagena and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pao Pao Beach Club Islas del Rosario Full Day Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cartagena within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cartagena?
+
On Outty we rank every Cartagena experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cartagena Street Food Tour: 10 Local Tastings in the Walled City, Historic Center & Getsemaní Shared Tour in Cartagena, Cartagena Cooking Class with Local Chef (Small Group Experience). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cartagena?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cartagena?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
