Perhaps more than the...
Perhaps more than the Agua Clara lock, we really enjoyed the visit to the Fort of San Lorenzo - with a spectacular view of the forest next to the mouth of the Chagres River. The guide was also very helpful. We recommend this tour.
Response from the operator: The history and landscape make San Lorenzo a unique place!

Buyer Beware.
We were not able to take this trip because one of our travelers woke up sick and vomiting. We didn’t feel good about going around others like this, especially in the time of COVID. We notified the tour operator prior to the trip but to our surprise we weren’t offered a refund. The tour operator actually told us that we could still go on the trip but we weren’t comfortable going anywhere until we had a Covid test done. I have went around and around with Viator trying to get a refund but all I get is a runaround. My advice is that travelers avoid booking through Viator. I’m sure this comment will be removed but that’s okay because I plan on making a video review to warn other travelers of Viator’s lack of care for the health of it’s customers during COVID.
Response from the operator: I apologize for that experience you had. steps were taken to iimprove.

Competence and Sympathy
From Alejandro's organization to Thomas' availability, they are great and tireless with customers. It was the best travel option, given that I was alone and had little time. I did not worry about anything (they deal with everything, from the transport to and from the hotel to the water bottles!) and I learned a lot (from pirate stories to contemporary events). Repeat tomorrow!
Response from the operator: Muito obrigado Angela pelos passeios feitos connosco, o Thomas falou maravilhas de voce :). Estamos muito agradecidos pela sua preferencia e desejamos bom retorno para seu pais. Saudacoes.

Super recommended
The tour of Panama Canal Railway, Agua Clara and Forteza de San Lorenzo with the Alejandro guide was excellent. We enjoy the history and nature of Panama. We found the sloth, the toucans and the monkeys on the road to Fortaleza. What a rich Panama! Super recommended, Monkey Adventure.
Response from the operator: Muchas gracias Yoshi: Sin duda alguna fue un tour inolvidable. Saludos

Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Panama City.
How much does Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress cost?
+
Prices start at $129 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Panama City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Panama City is not rushed.
Is Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Panama City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Panama City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Panama City and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Panama City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Panama City?
+
On Outty we rank every Panama City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour to a waterfall and Embera village with lunch included, Ocean to Ocean Combo: Canal Boat Safari, Agua Clara & Gatun Locks, Half day of Panama city and canal tour: shared and private. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Panama City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Panama City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Panama Canal (Caribbean Locks) & San Lorenzo Fortress?
+
Included: Bottled water; Snacks; and In-vehicle air conditioning. Not included: Gratuities; Breakfast; and Lunch. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
