An unforgettable experience of tubing and ecotourism with Asotupal in Palomino

I had a wonderful experience with Asotupal doing the pipe tour along the Palomino River, accompanied by an ecological walk through the area. From the start, the team was very punctual, friendly and organized, providing security and clear information about the tour. The walk was a great way to connect with nature, with local guides sharing interesting facts about the flora, fauna and culture of the region. It was a quiet and educational experience, ideal for those who enjoy ecotourism. The descent in tubing down the river was simply spectacular. The scenery is amazing, surrounded by jungle and mountains, and the pace of the river allows you to relax and enjoy the surroundings. At all times we feel safe thanks to the professional accompaniment of the guides. I totally recommend this activity with Asotupal. It is an authentic and sustainable way to get to know Palomino, supporting a local agency committed to responsible and community tourism.

Response from the operator: Es un placer para nosotros que nos haya elegido para hacer realidad sus vacaciones de ensueño, en asotupal nuestra mayor satisfacción es ver a nuestros clientes felices, gracias por elegirnos

Good tour, annoying to pay more than booked

We did the tubing tour today (02.06.2025), the tour was good but: We booked a tour for 120.000 cop (60.000 cop each) and had to pay 140.000 cop at the end. I just give one star because I couldn't enjoy the tour fully because they increased the price. We did it anyway cause we had no other chance to do it. It is just so annoying that you don't get what you book! Be careful guys!

Response from the operator: Hi guys, I hope you're all doing well. I think it's very rude of you because we explained why we charged you 140,000 per couple. Because there wasn't another couple booked for the activity you paid for, which was 120,000 per couple. We explained that we had a ticket for the 140,000 ticket, and you had no problem paying it and joining the activity.

    Calma

It is an interesting experience if you are going to observe nature and enjoy the calm of the river current, as well as contemplate on arrival the force of the Caribbean sea. It is important to know that in the area there are no luxuries, it is a plan to divest the material to enjoy the natural

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Marta.

How much does Palomino River Tubing with Nature Trail Hike cost?

    +

How long does Palomino River Tubing with Nature Trail Hike take?

    +

Plan for about 3.2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Marta is not rushed.

Is Palomino River Tubing with Nature Trail Hike worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Marta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Palomino River Tubing with Nature Trail Hike?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Palomino River Tubing with Nature Trail Hike suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Palomino River Tubing with Nature Trail Hike?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Marta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Marta and add a light layer if any part of the 3.2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Palomino River Tubing with Nature Trail Hike start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Marta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Santa Marta?

    +

On Outty we rank every Santa Marta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hike for 4 days to the Lost City, Santa Marta, 4-Day Lost City Small-Group Tour in Santa Marta, 4-Day Walking Tour to Lost City of Sierra Nevada. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Santa Marta?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Santa Marta?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
