Unforgettable experience to Pallay Punchu

We began the tour by being picked up not too far from our AirBnb accommodation (the road was inaccessible to be picked up right outside). Our guide, Omar, contacted me to ensure we were in the right location for pickup. The car journey was long but definitely worth the early start. After having a lovely breakfast we headed to Pallay Punchu and we were the first people to arrive which gave us the perfect opportunity to enjoy the views and take pictures without the crowds that showed up later on. Omar went above and beyond to making sure we had a fantastic experience and catered our experience to myself and my partner's interests. He was very knowledgable about the mountain and local customs, and even let us try local remedies to help with the altitude (we made the mistake of only being in Cusco 2 days before doing this). I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a tour to Pallay Punchu. Thank you!

Myself and my partner had...

Myself and my partner had a fantastic experience visiting Pallay Punchu. The drive was fairly long but definitely worth it. We were the first ones to arrive to Pallay Punchu and we were the first to the top to take pictures and enjoy the view without crowds. Our guide, Omar, was a delight! He was very knowledgable about the mountain and was very patient with us when we struggled with the altitude (We had only been in Cusco 2 days and no higher than that, I definitely recommend acclimatising properly before going). He let us try some local remedies which definitely helped with the altitude. Omar went above and beyond for our tour and I'd recommend this to anyone looking to visit Pallay Punchu.

Pallay Ponchu — hidden gem 10/10

Omar was the best guide!!! He went above and beyond and was very knowledgeable about the mountain and Inca culture, taking the time to explain traditions, history, the resulting modern practices, and information about the towns/area. Omar was also extremely knowledgeable about the geological formations and the land. We got to take our time and enjoy Pallay Ponchu, and Omar knew all the best photo angles and ensured to grab our photos/videos throughout the entire hike and day, leaving us with awesome memories to share. Also, the colors of the mountain were more vibrant than I expected in person, and the views during the trip there were equally beautiful. 10/10 recommend — our favorite experience while staying in Cusco.

Response from the operator: Dear Maxim, Thank you so much for your amazing review! We are truly happy to hear that Pallay Punchu became your favorite experience while staying in Cusco. It really is a hidden gem, and we’re glad you were able to enjoy its vibrant colors and breathtaking views to the fullest. Your words about Omar mean a lot to us. He is deeply passionate about sharing not only the beauty of the landscape, but also the history, traditions, and geological significance of the area. We’re especially glad that you appreciated the time he took to explain everything and capture those special moments through photos and videos. Creating a personalized experience where our travelers can enjoy each moment at their own pace is something we truly value, and it’s wonderful to know that this made your hike even more memorable. Thank you for your recommendation — it means a lot to us. We hope to welcome you again for another unforgettable adventure in Peru. Warm regards, Qorianka Tours Team

A majestic experience from the Play Punchu

It was amazing. Although I am very new to hick today I had a majestic view from a top. Omar, our guide, was patient with me to take us up enough. As there are so few folks who know of this track path you get to be the most of it. Nice view, pictures, and the sound of the nature.

Response from the operator: Dear orvalhoa, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are truly happy to hear that you had such a majestic experience and enjoyed the breathtaking views from the top. It’s especially rewarding to know that, even being new to hiking, you felt supported and were able to fully enjoy the adventure. Omar will be very pleased to read your kind words. He is indeed a patient and dedicated guide who always makes sure every guest feels comfortable and reaches their personal goal safely. One of the most special parts of this trail is exactly what you mentioned — fewer crowds, peaceful surroundings, stunning views, and the beautiful sounds of nature. We’re glad you could experience it in such a meaningful way. We hope to welcome you again in Cusco for another unforgettable adventure. Warm regards, Qorianka Tours Team

Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.

How much does Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour take?

+

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.

Is Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 14-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Pallay Punchu Private Hiking Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cusco?

+

On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cusco?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cusco?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
