Still talking about our amazing guide, Omar
Omar was an amazing guide and educator for our small group. He was so well-versed and articulate in explaining the cultural and artistic details of the building and artwork. We felt like we had won the lottery with him as our guide. A fantastic experience.

Outstanding Tour of the Bella Artes Palace
We absolutely loved our tour of the Palace of Fine Arts (Palacio de Bellas Artes), and a big part of that was our wonderful personal guide, Cinthya. Cinthya is a historian, and she brought the beautiful building to life by explaining its fascinating history. We learned how the building’s construction was delayed for more than 20 years because of problems with the building sinking and the Mexican Revolution. The result is a fascinating combination of a Neoclassical exterior and an Art Deco interior. Our tour concentrated on the enormous and beautiful murals inside the palace, including works by González Camarena, Siqueiros, and Diego Rivera. Cinthya provided details about the murals that we never would have known on our own. She explained the messages, symbolism, and meanings the artists were presenting through their work, which gave us a completely different appreciation for what we were seeing. You could not help but get caught up in Cinthya’s passion for the art and its history. Her English was excellent, and we even had some fun along the way adding our own Texan versions to a few of her words! This was so much more than simply walking through a beautiful building and looking at paintings. Cinthya made the history and art come alive. We loved this tour and highly recommend it. If you take a tour of the Palace of Fine Arts, ask for Cinthya as your guide. She was magnificent!
Response from the operator: Hello, thanks for your words, you draw a big smile on my face. My best regards for you and your family

the tour was billed as 2...
the tour was billed as 2 hours, but we only did 1, so that was a disappointment. We also were there during the Palace tour of the Tiffany screen, but our tour guide didn't know about it and it would have been to go on that tour as well, but he didn't seem to know anything about the once weekly tour offered by the Palace to see the screen and we missed the opportunity. He did try to help us get in after the entry period, but it didn't work.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico City Murals & Art Deco Tour cost?

How long does Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico City Murals & Art Deco Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico City Murals & Art Deco Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 104 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico City Murals & Art Deco Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico City Murals & Art Deco Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico City Murals & Art Deco Tour?
+
Around 36 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Palacio de Bellas Artes: Mexico City Murals & Art Deco Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Teotihuacan 3 Pyramids Tour + Hotel Pick Up + Lunch at La Gruta, Historic Center Essentials: Mexico City Downtown Walking Tour, PREMIUM Frida Kahlo Museum and Xochimilco (Small Groups). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
