How personable and accommodating the staff was. I was running late and they called me twice to make sure I was on the way and would not miss the event.

Great experience
Great Luau. We had lots of space as there weren't many people there on a Wednesday night. Started out slow as expected. Good was delicious, plenty and well organized. The show after dinner was amazing!

My First Ever Luau
Traveled w/my husband and this was our first ever luau, and time in Hawaii. It was great. Felt very welcomed. Loved the story telling and dancing. Received a Lei, Lei bracelet, and tattoo. Food was great. There was laughter and just overall a great time.

Disappointing Food, Views, and Overall Experience
We were really looking forward to this luau, especially since we paid extra for VIP seating, but unfortunately it was very disappointing. The food selection was extremely limited for anyone who doesn’t eat meat and only eats fish. There was just one fish option, and it wasn’t very good. The salad was essentially plain spring mix with only a few pieces of cucumber and tomato, and even the rice contained pork and chicken. The other three in our group who do eat meat, were also not impressed with the food. We also paid for VIP seats expecting a better view of the show, but my view of the stage was partially blocked by one of the structural posts. For the additional cost of VIP seating, that was particularly frustrating. The show itself was also quite short. I’ve attended other luaus and was expecting a much more immersive Hawaiian experience, so this one fell well short of expectations. If you’re traveling to Oʻahu and looking for a luau, I would recommend finding one on the beach that offers the traditional pig roasting and a more complete luau experience. There are much better ways to experience this special Hawaiian tradition.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the detailed review. We're sorry the evening fell short of expectations, particularly with the dining experience and your VIP seating. VIP is the seating section nearest the stage plus it includes beverages, and we regret that your view was partially obstructed. We also appreciate your comments on the menu and will consider that for future improvements. Paina is designed as a more intimate cultural experience and one of the best in Waikiki, with storytelling, mele, hula, and a fire knife finale. We know guests have different expectations of a luau, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective. Mahalo, The Paina Waikiki Luau Team

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.
How much does Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott cost?
+
Prices start at $141 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.
Is Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 782 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott?
+
Around 274 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Paina Waikiki Luau at Waikiki Beach Marriott start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Oahu?
+
On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Oahu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Oahu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
