Great hike and experience...
Great hike and experience and really cool to see Pacaya and roast the marshmallows, especially for the price! The pickup/dropoff could be improved - seems like some people were able to get picked up and dropped off at hotels versus the 4 listed spots

Great hike, workout, and amazing view at the “top”!
We are a family of 13 with a 9 and 12 yr old! 6 older people end up riding a horse but the rest of us, including the kids, hiked up and down on a hot and humid day. The view at the top had stunning views and well worth the sweat soaked shirts we end up with. We had marshmallows to roast and the kids loved roasting them for us.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your family’s experience! We’re glad everyone found an option that worked for them, and that the kids especially enjoyed Pacaya roasting marshmallows at the top of the volcano.

Pacaya Volcano Hike
Convenient shuttle pickup. Blocks from our hotel. The guided tour was great! My adult children really enjoyed it!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re glad the convenient pickup made things easy and that the Pacaya guided tour was a hit with your family. It’s wonderful to hear your adult children enjoyed the adventure too!
via Viator
Amazing experience even if the weather wasn’t great!
The experience was amazing! The guides were so nice and helpful! The trip started when the shuttle bus picked us up on time at the agreed location. Once we arrived at the beginning of the hike, the guides provided all the necessary instructions. The team is very organized and were making sure that all of us were fine along the hike. A bit disappointed about the weather as we got to the top and weren’t able to do the marshmallows and see the surroundings because of the heavy rain. We managed a peak of the volcano before going down under the rain! Overall it was a great experience and really recommend the local tour team!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re glad the team kept everything organized and made sure everyone was comfortable throughout the hike. We’re sorry the heavy rain limited the views and prevented you from enjoying the marshmallows, but we’re happy you still managed to experience a glimpse of the volcano. Thank you for recommending our Pacaya Volcano hike with roasted marshmallows.

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Antigua.
How much does Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows cost?
+
Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Antigua usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Antigua is not rushed.
Is Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 60 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Antigua, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Antigua can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Antigua and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Pacaya Hike from Antigua an Adventure with Roasted Marshmallows start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Antigua within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Antigua?
+
On Outty we rank every Antigua experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Antigua ATV Sunset Tour, Authentic Guatemalan Cooking Class in Antigua, Antigua ATV Coffee Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Antigua?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Antigua?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
