Mt. Sinai adventure
We booked our trip to Mt. Sinai, which included a private car service from Giza to St. Catherine's which is a small town at the base of Mt Sinai. The area has numerous shops (that were closed) and a hotel for you to spend a few hours before embarking on the hike. Dinner was included, however there was no menu. Be prepared to tell the hotel what you want to eat and they will tell you if they can provide it. The food is not great. I had chicken, rice and vegetables. The dining area was dirty, numerous flies. The hotel at St. Catherine was probably the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Dirty, smelly, not clean. We were only there for a few hours, we starting the trip to meet our guide at midnight. Our guide, Muhammed was great. Made sure we took breaks when needed and offered to take photos for us and carried blankets when we neared the summit. Overall the hike was great and worth it. Best advice is to bring layers as it is colder at the summit. Also goes without saying bring good quality shoes, and any snacks if needed. The hike is a solid workout. Our driver was also great. Made out stops to make sure we could stretch (the ride is about 5 hours each way) If you can get past the dinner and hotel, the trip is definitely worth it.

Overnight tour to Moses Mountain and St. Catherine’s Monestary from Cairo!
The driver that took us to St. Catherine from our hotel was a very nice, English speaking driver. Along the way, he took time to point out important land marks. The tour guide that took us up the Mountain was also excellent. Very informative and helpful. The views at the top were breathtaking and very beautiful! St. Catherine’s Monestary was also amazing with so much history!

A Monumental Mountain Top Experience
What an outstanding experience. On top of the fact that this trip was a mountain top religious experience of a lifetime, this crowd of planners really made it happen without a hitch. We had just about every function of confusion on our part of having special requests, special needs for one of our travelers, and an adjustment on the numbers of travelers, we made it difficult. These professional planners took the need for being picked up in Taba Egypt and finishing the the tour in Cairo and made it happen without complaint or obstruction. They took our traveler with a special need and let the non-special needs travelers have the experience. They also allowed us to add a traveler without an added processing fee. The actual tour guide, Ehab, was super knowledgeable and bent over backwards to give us gracious and over the top nurturing. We will be using them again when planning our next trip to this region!

This trip is a must
I travelled to St Catherine’s and Mt. Sinai solo with some apprehension on safety. Ehab, Mohamed and driver, Medhat were amazing! I was cared for the entire time and could not have been more pleased with their experience, knowledge and kindness throughout the journey. Spectacular experience and incredibly safe thanks to the team. Thank you Ehab, Medhat and Mohamed!

Super customer service!
The trip to St Catherine/Mt Sinai was amazing and exactly as we were told before! It took us about 5 hrs to travel from Cairo to St Catherine but it was absolutely fine because the company provided us with a private car. The company provided a driver and a guide. Our guide Ehab was very attentive and knew what we needed before we asked. The driver Medhat was also very nice and professional. The dinner was great! The journey is a bit tough on rocky terrain but they have camels available for anyone who wants it, and it gets very cold in the night. However the sunrise view is worth every bit of it! Highly recommend it.

Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cairo.
How much does Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo cost?
+
Prices start at $475 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cairo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cairo is not rushed.
Is Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Cairo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cairo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cairo and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Overnight Tour Moses Mountain St. Catherine Monastery from Cairo start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cairo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cairo?
+
On Outty we rank every Cairo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-in-One Giza Tour, inside Pyramid, sphinx, Camel ride & lunch, VIP Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx Tour –Inside the Pyramids&More, Best of Cairo Private Giza Pyramids, Sphinx and Grand Museum Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cairo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cairo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
