The driver feel asleep behind the wheel!

We feared for our lives on a number of occasions! We were a group of 3 on Delhi / Agra tour. The tour guide in Delhi was overall good. At 4pm we still had the lotus temple to visit. As it was late in the day, we were tired, we agreed with the guide to skip the lotus temple and drive straight to Agra (it’s about 3-4 hours to Agra depending on traffic). The tour guide then took us an hour out of the way to visit an Indian art shop! Not on the tour. This added an hour to our trip! We then embarked on the trip to Agra. During the drive, the driver started micro sleeping at the wheel to the point where he fell asleep! In order to ensure we were safe on the trip, I took the wheel (nothing like paying for a driver to sit in the passenger seat!) As soon as I took the wheel, the car broke down! After getting the car started, I still ended up driving most of the way to Agra! We were welcomed at the hotel in Agra by the tour company who offered us a free tour of baby Agra the next day - no discount and we didn’t end up going to baby Agra as we ran out of time. The tour of the Taj and Red Fort was ok. A new driver picked us up to take us back to Delhi airport at 11:30pm. Whilst driving he received text messages and so after passing through the first toll gate, the proceeded to drive at 40klm per hour in the slow lane in order to respond to texts and scroll through past texts! (Driving whilst using a mobile phone in Dehli is punishable with suspension of licence). He didn’t stop scrolling and texting until I insisted he do so! Given the endangerment to our lives from the complete lack of care and responsibility from the drivers, I would definitely never use nor recommend this company to anyone.

Response from the operator: Dear Sir, We are extremely sorry for inconvenience caused during the tour and carelessness which the driver have showed up and it was completely unacceptable to us as well. But in the end he was also a human being not a machine and mistakes happens and we also can't expect 100% output from him and it can happen with any other company, even if how big it is doesn't matter but that doesn't means we do not accept it and to avoid these types of mistakes in future we have fired him. And we did our best to make you feel comfortable from personally meeting you and providing a new car with a new driver to a complimentary tour to "Baby Taj" but things didn't ended up as we expected and we are gonna work for it and because of one driver we cannot accept that all our drivers are inexperienced which you can also reconsider by checking our other excellent feedback about the drivers. But the situation which happened with you was just a coincidence or all you can say a bad day. Hope to see you soon on your next trip to India. Regards Team MTT

Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Overnight Agra/Taj Mahal Tour & Fatehpur Sikri Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

    +

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
