A Must-Do Tour in Charleston for Anyone Who Has Watched Outer Banks!

Jill Paris is the best tour guide ever! She has genuine insight into the show and, since she has actually appeared in a few episodes, complements the incredible tour with insider anecdotes and perspectives. It was a wonderful two-and-a-half hours that my daughter and I spent with her. And her Mercedes-Benz is the epitome of comfort and style. Could not recommend this tour more emphatically!

Response from the operator: So happy to hear that, Matt! Thanks so much. I'm thrilled that you and Riley had a wonderful time! And, I'm also delighted that you were entertained and comfortable throughout the ride. I sure hope to welcome you back again someday. And, with a Prequel in the works, who knows? I may have more tours coming! Thank you for choosing Eclectic Tours of Charleston. Warm regards, Jill :)

    Amazing OBX experience!

Absolutely amazing Outer Banks private tour! Jill did an amazing job. My daughters are huge fans of the show. Jill was an extra on the show and knew so much extra information We saw so much more than we could have if just doing it on our own. I highly recommend booking with her if you are a fan of the show.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Shannon! I had such a fabulous time with you and your darling girls, Carlie and Sofie! We didn't let the heat spoil our fun at all. So much fun posing for pics! (Diehard fans always make the best guests.) ;) Thanks for choosing Eclectic Tours of Charleston! Hope to welcome y'all back again someday. Jill :)

An expert guide with wonderful enthusiasm!

We met Jill at our meeting point and she immediately felt like someone we knew. Jill is a warm, friendly tour guide with excellent knowledge of the Outer Banks. She drove us around the city with several stops and talked to us about the scenes that were filmed at various locations. Her insider knowledge was great and she talked fondly about the cast and the show. This tour is a must for any Outer Banks fans. My two daughters absolutely loved it (we did too!). Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: How lovely, Carla! Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that you, Paul, Heidi and Liv had a memorable time on tour! It was an absolute pleasure for me. I sure hope to welcome y'all back again in the near future! Thank you for choosing Eclectic Tours of Charleston! Warmest regards, Jill

    Wonderful private tour!

We booked this tour before we even started watching the show. Why? Because there weren't a lot of tours going on July 4th. Ha! We knew it was going to be blazing hot and we decided on a whim to fly into Charleston for the July 4th weekend to see the fireworks mainly. Jill was wonderful and super enthusiastic about her tour! We got to see a lot of great places and where certain episodes were filmed. We did start watching Outter Banks about 2 weeks prior, so we got to see many of the places from the show and some upcoming places that we will see in the show. Ha! Jill didn't spoil any future events either. Ha! My boyfriend and I loved sightseeing with Jill for a couple of hours, and we both thought it was well worth the price for the private tour in an air-conditioned beautiful ride. If you're a fan of the show, or not, or just started watching Outer Banks I would definitely recommend booking Jill for her private tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Brenda! I had such a lovely time with you and Greg! Yes! My tour is a great way to cover 30-square miles of gorgeous Historic Charleston, Upper Charleston, Shem Creek and the Old Village of Mount Pleasant with the joy of seeing historical beauty AND some fabulous locations from the show! I'm so happy y'all enjoyed it!!!! Hugs, Jill :)

Outer Banks Film Locations Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Charleston.

How much does Outer Banks Film Locations Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $250 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Charleston usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Outer Banks Film Locations Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Charleston is not rushed.

Is Outer Banks Film Locations Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 183 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Charleston, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Outer Banks Film Locations Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Outer Banks Film Locations Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Outer Banks Film Locations Tour?

    +

Around 64 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Charleston can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Charleston and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Outer Banks Film Locations Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Charleston within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Charleston?

    +

Charleston's best experiences are small: house museum tours with an architectural historian, Gullah heritage walks, harbour sails at sunset and Lowcountry food crawls through the market district. Plantation day trips vary enormously in how honestly they handle the history, and our ranking factors that in directly. On Outty we rank every Charleston experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historic Charleston Guided Sightseeing Walking Tour, Charleston historical walking tour with a Professor of History at The Citadel, Charleston Eco Boat Cruise with stop at Morris Island Lighthouse. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Charleston?

    +

March to May and September to November, the two mild shoulder windows. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Charleston?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
