More than an average sighseeing tour - great expereince.

I really enjoyed the walking tour of Oslo. My guide was very knowledgeable, professional and super friendly. Not only she showed me the most interesting places in Oslo ( many of which I would not have ever found on my own), but also shared her knowledge of history, culture and mentality of Norwegian people. This was more than just seeing the places - it was an incredible insight into the past and present of the country. I highly recommend this tour to everyone who visits Oslo.

    Tour cancelled last minute :(

Received message that the tour was cancelled. It was sent 1.5 hrs before the tour, but I did not receive it until I arrived at the meetup spot. Had they informed me earlier, I could’ve booked an alternative for that same day. Disappointed, as I was looking forward to a city overview to begin my exploration of this beautiful city.

    Avoid

Terrible experience and communication when we complained. The guide was pleasant but ultimately lacked language skills and knowledge. He was Ukrainian and his English language skills were limited and struggled to communicate information and when we asked questions gave random answers. Usually about Ukrainian or transport around the city. He was confused and unorganised and the information he provided appears to have been developed by basic Internet searches. We requested a refund or return of some of the £58 we paid but response has been slow and only said thank you for your feedback. We would never usually or never have left feedback like this and would not have if we had received a more positive response. Would suggest using another company as we have seen some very well organised tours around the city.

Response from the operator: Dear customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that the tour did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments regarding the guide's communication and the information provided during the tour. We take this type of feedback seriously and expect our guides to be well prepared and able to provide clear and accurate information about the city. Regarding your refund request, we are sorry that you felt our response was not sufficiently helpful. Each case is reviewed according to the circumstances of the booking and the applicable policies, and we always aim to handle these situations as professionally as possible. We appreciate you bringing these concerns to our attention, as your feedback helps us identify areas where we can improve and provide a better experience for our future guests. Have a nice day!

Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oslo.

How much does Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems cost?

    +

Prices start at $39 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oslo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oslo is not rushed.

Is Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 27 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oslo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems?

    +

Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oslo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oslo and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Oslo Walking Tour: Explore Top Sights & Hidden Gems start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oslo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oslo?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oslo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oslo Highlights Bike Tour, Oslo Nature Walks: Island hopping, Central Oslo Guided Walking Tour with Local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oslo?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oslo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
