Wonderful guide; food is culture
Tito the tour guide was fabulous! He was very informative and knowledgeable about Norwegian history, the food and its history. He was friendly and engaging and even adapted the schedule to include a farmer’s market to provide more sampling options. The food was all unique, enjoyable, and with lots of history behind each sampling.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words. We are so happy you enjoyed the food tour of Oslo. For sure we will let Totto know. Welcome back to one of our Oslo city tours.

Sebastian was a great...
Sebastian was a great guide. It was a nice introduction to Oslo with some good food. We also got ideas for the rest of our stay and just had dinner at a great restaurant he suggested.

Wonderful and delicious food tour
The food tour was amazing. Our guide, Mari, is passionate about Oslo and the food Norway has to offer. We went by a number of places to try out various foods, which represent the Norwegian kitchen well. It was well-balanced and we were completely full afterwards. The cruise tour that was included, provided a change of scenery and gave us a different look on Oslo. Even while it was in the cold winter, there were plenty of times we sat indoors and warmed up. The bonfire at SALT was a cozy ending to the experience. I learned a lot and met some very nice people on the way. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the food tour and that Mari’s passion for Oslo and Norwegian cuisine made it a memorable experience. It’s great to know you appreciated the variety of tastings, the fjord cruise, and the cozy bonfire at SALT — even in winter. Thank you for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Oslo again soon!

Oslo's local flavours and fjord stories
We did a small group food walking tour and cruise 'Oslo's local flavours and fjord stories' which covered everything we wanted to know about Oslo and Norway in a fun and relaxed way. We knew we had made the right choice when our lovely guide Mari greeted us with a stick of Kvikk Lunsj (Norway's version of Kit Kat) before setting off! Walking round the city Mari shared the fascinating, colourful and tragic history of the people and country. Our first food stop was at the harbour, with a couple of local not-too-fishy fishy treats, then a farm bakery with an uplifting backstory and tasty cheeses, meats and artisan bread for lunch. The gentle cruise, with great views of the harbour, islands and hillside gave us an insight into city (and island) life, past and present. On board we had a refreshing non-alcoholic beverage and a brown cheese snack called svele. While touring Mari pointed out the main sights of Oslo and suggested those that we might like to go back to for a closer look (which we did, and also the bakery again!) Our final stop involved toasting meats and marshmallows on an open fire with fairy lights overhead; quite magical. Once again our guide was welcomed by the staff and we were well looked after.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that Oslo’s Local Flavours and Fjord Stories gave you exactly the experience you were looking for — fun, relaxed, and full of insight. Mari will be so pleased to hear your kind words (and that the Kvikk Lunsj was a good start!). It’s great to know you enjoyed the tastings, the cruise, and the magical bonfire finale. Thank you for joining us — we’d love to welcome you back again!

Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oslo.
How much does Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise cost?
+
Prices start at $219 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oslo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oslo is not rushed.
Is Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oslo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oslo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oslo and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Oslo Food Walking Tour with Fjord Cruise start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oslo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Oslo?
+
On Outty we rank every Oslo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oslo Highlights Bike Tour, Oslo Nature Walks: Island hopping, Central Oslo Guided Walking Tour with Local Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Oslo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Oslo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
