About this experience

Experience the electric energy of Osaka after dark on our private nighttime food tour through Tenma — the heart of the city's legendary food culture. Over 3 hours, your personal bilingual guide will take you to 3 carefully selected, pre-reserved restaurants where locals gather for after-work drinks and the city's best comfort food. Eat to your heart's content as you hop between 3 restaurants, each with its own specialty — think izakaya, tempura, kushikatsu, okonomiyaki, or yakiniku, depending on the evening's lineup. Paired with 3 drinks of your choice — beer, sake, or Japanese cocktails — this is Osaka nightlife the way locals enjoy it. There's a reason they say "kuidaore" (eat till you drop) in Osaka, and this tour delivers on that promise. A private experience exclusively for your group.

Top food tour in Osaka

We had an excellent evening with Kaori in Osaka this week! She led our family of four through the back streets and into hidden gems - sampling local specialities, explaining their history and advising on what to drink with them at each stop. She had superb English and a wonderful sense of humour!! Thoroughly recommend🤩

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I had such a great evening with you and your family🥰 Please come back soon 💕 Kaori

Osaka Evening Food Tour

We had an outstanding food tour experience in Osaka with Miwa from Oishii Tour Company, and she was one of the highlights of our entire trip to Japan. From the very beginning, Miwa showed exceptional knowledge of Osaka’s food culture and a genuine ability to tailor the experience to us as individuals. Rather than following a fixed itinerary, she adapted the tour based on our preferences, which made the whole experience feel personal, relaxed, and completely unforced. The selection of venues was excellent, offering a wide and authentic range of Osaka’s street food and local dishes, all carefully chosen for quality and character. At each stop, Miwa provided clear, engaging explanations about the food, its preparation, and its cultural significance, striking the perfect balance between informative and enjoyable without ever feeling scripted or overwhelming. What really set Miwa apart was her attentiveness and natural professionalism. She ensured we experienced a great variety of food while always being mindful of our pace, comfort, and individual choices. This created a very easygoing atmosphere and allowed us to simply enjoy the experience. Overall, Miwa’s warmth, enthusiasm, and deep local knowledge made this tour genuinely memorable. We would highly recommend both her and Oishii Tour Company to anyone visiting Osaka and wanting an authentic food experience.

Osaka Nighttime tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Osaka.

How much does Osaka Nighttime tour cost?

+

Prices start at $195 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Osaka usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Osaka Nighttime tour take?

+

Plan for about 3.2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Osaka is not rushed.

Is Osaka Nighttime tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 290 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Osaka, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Osaka Nighttime tour?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Osaka Nighttime tour suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.2-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Osaka Nighttime tour?

+

Around 102 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Osaka can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Osaka and add a light layer if any part of the 3.2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Osaka Nighttime tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Osaka within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Osaka?

+

On Outty we rank every Osaka experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hungry Osaka Street Food Tour:15 Tastings & 3 Drinks with a Local, Ultimate Osaka Walking Tour: Castle, Dotonbori, Gems & Lunch, Osaka Castle Walking Tour and Castle Tower Admission. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Osaka?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Osaka?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
