Love a revolving restaurant experience

Although I am a fan for a revolving restaurant experience I seem to always forget that the buffet food never lives up to expectation. Tough chicken, dry sushi, can’t for the life of me source a drink (and no alcohol at all at this one which is meh!). However it’s for the views and not the food I remind myself. And the views don’t disappoint. Also I thought considering the place isn’t even half full they maybe they would upgrade me to a window seat complimentary being that it is my birthday but clearly here they don’t have the same concept of hospitality that I / Brits do. And 3 different staff have now reminded me I will need to pay the extra for the window-side table. Aye OK, thanks a mil. Happy Birthday to me…

Anniversary dinner at Orbit Revolving Restaurant

Booked dinner for our 40th wedding anniversary while visiting Kuala Lumpur. Before dinner you can go to the observatory and look around. Booking was for 6pm. I pre booked and paid for my tickets and requested a window table. When l redeem our tickets at the ticket box l was asked as l requested a window table it would be another RM58. As this was a special occasion l wasn’t too fussed but the restaurant wasn’t busy. It was a Sunday night. The food was a buffet which was average but as my husband likes everything hot it wasn’t hot. The food was served in bymaries but not sure they were turned on as the food wasn’t hot. I had the creamy corn soup for starters, which was very hot and delicious. You can have pasta which is prepared in front of you. Lots of variety to choice from. Drinks were extra and water was complimentary. One revolution takes an hour. The views were great and the rotation was smooth. We stayed for about an hour and a half.

Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing to celebrate your 40th wedding anniversary with us — it’s truly an honour to be part of such a special occasion. We’re glad you enjoyed the observatory visit, the smooth revolving views, and some of the dining selections, especially the soup and live pasta station. We sincerely appreciate your feedback regarding the window table arrangement and the food temperature. Your comments have been noted and will be shared with the restaurant team for review and improvement. Guest comfort and dining quality are very important to us. Thank you again for celebrating with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even more memorable experience in the future.

Not recommended

Dinner at Orbit Revolving Dining at KL Tower was a major disappointment. Given the place's high prices and reputation, we expected a premium dining experience, but it fell far short. The food quality was poor for the price — limited options, bland flavors, and dishes that felt more like standard buffet items than fine dining. While the revolving view of Kuala Lumpur is interesting, it does not compensate for the subpar food and service. Overall, the dinner was overpriced and underwhelming, and definitely not worth the cost.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your dining experience did not meet your expectations, especially regarding the food quality and overall value. Your comments have been noted and will be shared with the restaurant management for improvement. We’re glad you were able to enjoy the revolving city views, and we truly appreciate your honest review. Thank you for joining us, and we hope to have the opportunity to provide a better experience in the future.

Avoid

We booked an evening buffet here. First of all we were unaware when booking that this place does not serve alcohol. It came as a surprise to us. I’m afraid to report that the food was very uninspiring. The worst sort of buffet food. Cheap ingredients with very little real care. If you appreciate good food then you should avoid this place. It’s only saving grace was the view. But the restaurant itself was tatty and in dire need of a revamp. The service staff were attentive and polite though.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the buffet did not meet your expectations. We appreciate your comments on the food and facilities, and your remarks have been shared with the management for improvement. We’re glad you enjoyed the view and found our service staff attentive and polite. Thank you for taking the time to review your experience.

Amazing meal for our last night in K.

We were staying in KL for 4 nights near the Petronas towers. We booked to go up the Petronas, which was great, but you get a very limited time on the viewing platforms for your money. The KL tower is not limited & the dining option gives you a 360deg view while you relax in comfort, having a lovely meal. I reserved a table in advance for dinner, including window table, which was well worth it. The food was beautifully laid out & the choice was amazing. A truly memorable experience.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the KL Tower dinner and its amazing 360° views. It truly offers a relaxing and memorable way to see the city. We're happy everything—from the window seating to the beautifully presented food—made your visit special. We hope to welcome you back again on your next trip to Kuala Lumpur!”

Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kuala Lumpur.

How much does Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower cost?

+

Prices start at $273 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kuala Lumpur usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kuala Lumpur is not rushed.

Is Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 40 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.2/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kuala Lumpur, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower?

+

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kuala Lumpur can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kuala Lumpur and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Orbit Revolving Restaurant: Sky-High Dining at Kuala Lumpur Tower start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kuala Lumpur within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kuala Lumpur?

+

On Outty we rank every Kuala Lumpur experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Genting Highland & Batu Cave Guided Day Tour (SIC/Shared Tour), Kuala Lumpur Grand Full Day Guided Tour with 25 Attractions (SIC), Kuala Lumpur Suburbs Batu Caves Half-Day Tour (SIC/Shared Tour). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kuala Lumpur?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kuala Lumpur?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
