    About this experience

Come experience unparalleled adventure and discover the wonders of the aquatic world! The advantage of carrying out this certification in Mexico is the great diversity of diving sites present. There are millions of animals, plants, caves and cenotes that can only be seen in Mexico. According to National Geographic, water covers more than 70 percent of the surface of our planet and only 2 to 5 percent of the oceans have been studied. There are more than 2.2 million species of organisms living in the oceans, of which only 194,400 are known. This 3-day course includes a theoretical and a practical part with 4 dives in the sea. Our experienced instructor will help you master the theory with humor and professionalism. We will send you in advance a digital course manual so that you can learn before your holiday. Following the theoretical exam, you will officially join the ranks of divers!

    PADI 3 day course

I loved learning how to dive. One day we went out and Patrick let me hold his hand the entire dive. I was having some fear because of rough water. He was so very kind, and I felt very safe in his care. Thanks Patrick!

Response from the operator: You were awesome Tawnya! Diversland and I are so happy, and proud that you finished your course!!! I knew you could do it!!! I am looking so forward to you guys coming back to Mexico, and we will plan some amazing dives when you return! Thank you, and congratulations Tawnya!!!!

Great Experience and Diving made easy

I decided to go for my open water licence while i was in Cancun so I could go diving down the track on my trip. I was not disappointed as we sat down and went through the theory and the practical. I had concerns as i needed to fly quite soon after diving and Patrick made sure i had enough time after diving to be able to fly out from Cancun safely. His knowledge was vast and made me feel very comfortable as we went through all the criteria necessary. Highly recommend Diversland and especially Patrick

Response from the operator: Hi Norris! The Diversland family thanks you for your very kind words! We certainly had a fun filled few days together! I hope the rest of your trip went well! You had quite a bit of traveling to do! Hopefully, you will be able to make your way back to Mexico in the future. Next time around, we could dive some Cenotes and Cozumel together! Thanks again my friend!!!

    PADI 3 day course

Learning to dive by Diversland was one of the most gratifying expirience of my life ,Patrick was the most patient teachers ever ,He calmed my girlfriend ,who had already said she did not want to go in water enough to do her first 2 open waet dives ,so much so that she completed the final 2 open water dives and finish her course.I found Patrick to be extremely knowledgeable and fun to dive with. When we go to Cancun next year ,I will be diving again with Diversland ,I can't wait

Response from the operator: Hi Henry! Diversland truly thanks you for such kind words! I had so much fun with our time spent together! Please tell Tawnya, we are so proud of her!!! I knew she would complete the course!!! We will all be waiting for your return next year, and I will plan some special diving for the three of us! Thank you so much my friend, and see you soon!!!

    Outstanding

These guys are great. Never did this before n they took there time made me totally relaxed and we had fun. For me it was one on one because of the slow season but I also got to know the owner of the company very nice guy. I’m from America so my teacher was American. The owner is Russian but he speaks 5 languages.

Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun cost?

    +

Prices start at $510 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun take?

    +

Plan for about 72 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 72-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Open Water Diver course PADI in Cancun start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
