    What you'll see and do

    1. Slatina Beach

Listen to the story about the name Slatina and about famous people from Croatia whose names are written on the stars in the Croatian Street of Fame. Enjoy the wonderful view of the sea and the largest Croatian island. You will wonder if the sea is always so calm here, or if it is always so wavy.

      10 minutes here

    2. Lungomare Coastal Promenade

Lungomare is a promenade by the sea built during the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It connects three little towns, and the Opatija part is in the middle. We will walk around the Opatija part of the Lungomare and see several sculptures. The most famous among them is the Maiden with a Seagull - one of the symbols of Opatija.

      20 minutes here

    3. St. Jacob's Church (Crkva. Sv. Jakova)

From Lungomare, we will also take a look at St. Jakob Park. Here is the parish church of St. Jakob, the Madonna del Mare sculpture, the fountain of Helios and Selena and the art pavilion. From the Park of St. Jakob, we also have a view of the historic hotel - today's Imperial Heritage Hotel.

      20 minutes here

    4. Hotel Kvarner is the first hotel in Opatija, but also on the eastern coast of the Adriatic. What do you think, did Franjo Josip and Sisi stay there?

      5 minutes here

    5. The Angiolina Park - Villa Angiolina

Between Hotel Kvarner and Park Angiolina there is a reconstruction of a former typical Austro-Hungarian bathing area. In the Angiolina park, the most famous landmark is the Angiolina villa (currently under renovation). Find out who Angiolina and Iginio were, where the magnolias, bamboo and cedar in the park came from. Why is there a small music pavilion in this park? See where Tom Jones held his concert in the summer of 2022, as well as which celebrities visited Opatija in the past - on the Wall of Fame.

      30 minutes here

    6. The market building is another example of Austro-Hungarian architecture in Opatija. It is located in the main street of Opatija, where there are many other villas, hotels, bars, restaurants and shops.

    Wonderful Opatija Walking Tour

Marija was an amazing, informative and friendly guide - that gave me a peek at the history of Opatija. She was conscious of the heat and we stopped in shady areas to chat and discuss the various locations. I thoroughly enjoyed our morning, walk and conversations. She also helped me connect with a guide in Rijeka which would be my next stop. Thank you Marija!

Response from the operator: Dear Liz, thank you very much! I am glad you enjoyed the tour!

Opatija Walking Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovinj.

How much does Opatija Walking Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $113 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovinj usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Opatija Walking Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovinj is not rushed.

Is Opatija Walking Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovinj, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Opatija Walking Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Opatija Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Opatija Walking Tour?

    +

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovinj can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovinj and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Opatija Walking Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovinj within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rovinj?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rovinj experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include BUBA-Kayak Tours Rovinj FREE-drinks,pictures,snorkeling equipment, Rovinj amazing kayak tour-free drink &snorkeling &jumps &photos, Truffle hunting adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rovinj?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rovinj?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
