Head to the famous Longjing Tea Village, where a strong local atmosphere fills the air. The village consists of simple farmhouse courtyards, with flowers and trees planted around them, surrounded by lush green tea hills, and a faint scent of tea leaves wafting through the air. We sit down here to enjoy tea, watching the shopkeeper brew it on the spot. The dried tea leaves slowly unfurl in the hot water, gradually turning green. Taking a sip, there is a slight bitterness at first, but soon a pleasant sweetness rises in the mouth—this is the "returning sweetness" (huigan). After finishing our tea, we can take a walk up the tea hills to see the tea bushes up close and smell the fresh fragrance of the leaves. Along the way, the guide will share some insights about tea, such as when to pick the leaves and how to roast them. On this leisurely afternoon, sipping tea while immersing ourselves in tea culture feels both relaxing and enriching.

Hefang Street
Come to Hefang Street, the best-preserved ancient street in Hangzhou. It is a classic ancient street in the Jiangnan water town style, with most buildings dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties—white walls, black tiles, wooden doors and windows, and some built right along the water. Walking on the cobblestone paths, you can feel the authentic old Hangzhou atmosphere. This street is also a favorite spot for locals, not just tourists. Along both sides of the street, there are many small shops selling locally crafted items, such as beautiful silk umbrellas, handmade fans, and snacks like tea cakes. You can stroll along and browse these items. You'll also see some time-honored establishments, such as the Hu Qing Yu Tang pharmacy, a very famous shop whose signboard and storefront have been preserved in their original style. In the early evening, the street gradually becomes more lively as the lights turn on, making it a very pleasant time for a leisurely walk.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hangzhou?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hangzhou?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
