Omiš, Croatia: Cetina River 2-hour Boat Tour & Nature Park Visit

Lovely relaxed boat trip

Lovely boat ride up the river. It was so relaxing and beautiful. We went at 5pm when the weather was cooler. Had teenagers plus 89 year old grandparents and all enjoyed it! The boat driver was lovely and really helpful to my parents. We saw turtles and had a lovely drink and wander around the park at the end.

Relaxing 2 hour tour along the stunning Cetina River

On a hot July Day we were looking for a relaxing activity to fill our afternoon, and the Cetina River Cruise seemed perfect, especially for my 83 year old Mum. We assembled at the Dalmatia Tours office in Omis, where we could shelter and enjoy a cold drink of water before boarding the boat. Although there is no commentary provided during the cruise, we were provided binoculars to enjoy the views. I guess a commentary might not work given the wide ranging nationalities taking this tour! The cruise itself was in a shaded boat, and offered stunning views along the Cetina River, also passing under the zip-lines near Omis! Very relaxing. There is a restaurant and bar at the nature centre but with only 40 minutes to explore, we only really had time for a quick drink and could ideally have enjoyed slightly longer there. A perfect activity to fill two relaxing hours in Omis.

Relaxing Boat Trip with Room for Improvement

We took the river boat tour as a couple and had a relaxing, enjoyable experience. The atmosphere on the boat was calm, and it was a nice way to spend a few hours. One thing that would make the tour even better would be having a guide onboard explaining the sights along the route. We did receive a written guide in our own language, which was a nice touch and very helpful. If a live guide isn’t available, it would also be useful to provide a map showing where each point of interest is located during the journey. At the destination, there wasn’t a lot to do, and the path leading to the swimming area was difficult to find. It would also be helpful if guests were informed in advance that swimming is possible there. We didn’t bring our swimsuits because we had no idea, and we definitely would have if we had known. Overall, it was a pleasant and relaxing boat trip with a lovely atmosphere. With a few small improvements to the information provided, it could be an even better experience.

Rainy experience

We visited Omiš on Saturday 16th May 2026 and went on the river cruise. Unfortunately through no fault of theirs, the weather was awful. The boat did have roll down windows which were in place when we boarded, however the front panels were not. I sat quite near the front and unfortunately got absolutely drenched on our way back to the starting point, to the point that it made my experience a very unpleasant one. Had I realised this was going to happen I would have sat elsewhere. Having said that, had the weather been different, the trip was lovely, beautiful scenery and plenty of photos taken. I would definitely recommend but only when the weather is decent enough to enjoy it to the fullest.

Nice leisurely float up the Cetina river.

Nice relaxing boat ride up the Cetina river. The river is crystal clear and the landscape is beautiful, but don't think this is going to be a wildlife exhibition, we are convinced the turtles are ornaments since they were in the exact same position on the way down as they were on the way up 🤣. You end up at this family orientated restaurant/play area but only really have time for a drink before you need to que to come back. The staff are great and easy to talk to. Worth the money but don't expect a safari!
