The most Genuine Authentic Lunch & Olive Oil Experience in Sorrento

Recently my wife & I booked an Olive Oil tasting and tour. The venue is only 15 mins from Sorrento central, and offers a more authentic humble experience than most. Our host was Emma, she was fantastic. She had a wealth of knowledge, was passionate and gave us a rich history in the land, family business and knowledge about how oil and there other products are produced. The olive oil tasting was fantastic. We tried over 30 types of oils, had great explanations of how they can be paired and used to. Afterwards we had lunch at the restaurant. This is a must do. The view from the top floor is amazing, and the food is incredible. All food was produced from what they grow/ develop (produce & meat included). Giuesppe / Giovanni was our host and he was great. Pomodoro Meatballs, Antipasto cheese and meat board, eggplant dish and desert … chocolate and vanilla cakes are must tries (see pictures). This experience warms the heart and is a must do. You are treated like family, you are appreciated and your presence is made to feel welcome. A big thank you to our driver Franco too, he was passionate about the business too and took us to and from the venue.

    Perfect for foodies

Giuseppe was very welcoming. We were shown how his family produced their olive in the past and the new process. The tasting options were more than what we were expecting. Olive oil flavors range from your garden variety olive oil to curry, onion, garlic, black/white truffle, garlic and mushroom…..and the balsamic glaze and vinegars were insanely good. If you are a foodie and like to try new flavors you must try this tour. We are left this tour very pleased. We placed an order of oils and balsamic to be shipped home.

A Magical Highlight of Our Sorrento Trip! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you are visiting Sorrento, you absolutely must book an olive oil tasting at Gargiulo Olive Farm. Our experience here was nothing short of amazing, and it easily became one of the absolute highlights of our entire trip to Italy. From the moment we arrived, we were swept away by the breathtaking beauty of the estate. Walking through the serene olive groves, surrounded by the stunning Sorrento landscape, felt like stepping into a dream. What truly transformed this beautiful tour into an unforgettable, heartfelt experience was our incredible guide, Emma. She is an absolute gem! Emma welcomed us with the warmest, most genuine smile and an energy that was completely infectious. The tasting itself was amazing. The variety of infused oils was mind-blowing. From the vibrant lemon-infused oil (made with local Sorrento lemons!) to the robust chili and delicate truffle oils, every single pour was liquid gold. Paired with fresh bread and local treats, it was pure heaven for our tastebuds. We left Gargiulo with heavy bags of olive oil and other goodies from the show room to bring home, but more importantly, with wonderful memories and a profound appreciation for the tradition. Thank you, Gargiulo Olive Farm, and a massive, heartfelt thank you to Emma for making our day so incredibly special. Do not hesitate to book this experience—it is worth every single second!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sorrento.

How much does Olive oil tasting in Sorrento cost?

    +

Prices start at $42 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sorrento usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Olive oil tasting in Sorrento take?

    +

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sorrento is not rushed.

Is Olive oil tasting in Sorrento worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 452 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Olive oil tasting in Sorrento?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Olive oil tasting in Sorrento suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Olive oil tasting in Sorrento?

    +

Around 158 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sorrento can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sorrento and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Olive oil tasting in Sorrento start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sorrento within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Sorrento?

    +

On Outty we rank every Sorrento experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pizza School with Wine and Limoncello Tasting in a Local Farm, Private Amalfi Coast Day Tour from Sorrento or Naples, Sorrento Farm and Food Experience including Olive Oil, Limoncello, Wine tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Sorrento?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Sorrento?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
