Interesting and fun!
We were met on time at the stated meeting point by our guide Nicha, and enjoyed a really interesting tour with lots of different types of food and drink, with not too much walking (which was appreciated as we were not used to lots of walking in the heat, coming from the UK!). We learned a lot about other parts of Thai culture too. Fantastic and highly recommended!
Response from the operator: We’re glad you decided to write about your time with us. A good guide can really change how a place is experienced, and it’s great to know that came through. We’d happily host you again on Secret Food Tours!

Great food tour!
Great selection of food with a nice explanation of each of the dishes. Warat was our guide. He was super chill an very welcoming, I’m glad he was the one who got to show and teach us about Northern Thai cuisine. Would definitely recommend to anyone who comes to Chiang Mai

Delicious food - great tour guide!
We had an incredible time - we had the opportunity to try some amazingly delicious food and our guide Warat was really information and sooo friendly! There was only my husband and I on the tour and Warat answered all our questions about the food and Chiang Mai - this was our first time to Chiang Mai but it certainly won't be out last. Oh, and this was our 3rd Secret Food tour (the others were in Melbourne and KL) - I would highly recommend them!
Response from the operator: A city often reveals itself through its food. We’re glad the tour helped make that connection practical and easy to follow. You’re always welcome to discover another Secret Food Tours worldwide!

Great food tour!
The tour was great - A large selection of foods and generous portions! Nicha was an excellent guide. She knows Chiang Mai well and had lots of great suggestions for sites to see, best places to get Khao Soi, places to shop and a spa recommendation! I would definitely recommend this tour. No need to book in advance…it doesn’t seem to fill up and there is a no refund policy.
Response from the operator: Seeing the city through a local lens is what these tours are built around. We’re pleased that perspective came across for you. You’re welcome to discover another Secret Food Tours worldwide!

Brilliant food and amazing guide!
Absolutely wonderful! Our guide Varisa was so friendly and knowledgeable. She showed us little places along the way (pointing out temples and museums to visit later) and explained all the dishes so well. The food was fantastic and it was so nice to try Chiang Mai and northern Thai specialties. Would absolutely recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave this review! We’re pleased our tour offered a meaningful local perspective during your visit. You’re invited to discover another Secret Food Tours in any of our destinations.

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.
How much does Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings cost?
+
Prices start at $44 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings take?
+
Plan for about 2.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.
Is Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 2.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Old Town Chiang Mai Food Tour with 10+ Local Dishes Tastings start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?
+
On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
