Outstanding private walking tour
For first-timers in Quebec City, a walking tour is essential because of its rich history, complicated city plan, and interesting hidden corners that you will miss on your own. We chose a private tour with Luis Huertas, highly recommended! Do not be put off that he is from Colombia as he's lived in Canada for years and knows the city well. Luis was attentive to our need to walk slowly and sit down frequently. He also provided us with superb dining recommendations. We ran into him a couple of times leading tours during the remainder of our stay--he keeps busy guiding all year.

Luis was wonderful. The tour was very well-paced. Luis was very flexible in tailoring, on the fly, the tour to our interests. His knowledge about the history of Quebec and Nee France was amazing. I had some deeper questions about the Québécois and the American Revolution and their ability to retain their language and religion in the face of The Conquest, and Luis answered them all, in depth. His South American origins kinda made him a neutral in that regard.

We had a fantastic experience on our walking tour of Quebec City! Our guide, Michel Perron, was incredibly knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly passionate about the city and its history. That enthusiasm really came through in the way he shared stories and insights with our group. We also really appreciated how accommodating the tour was for everyone in our group, as we had a stroller and some older members who needed a comfortable pace. Michel made sure everyone could keep up and enjoy the experience without ever feeling rushed. We walked away impressed by both the depth of knowledge and the care that went into making the tour enjoyable. A wonderful way to experience Quebec City — highly recommend!
