About this experience
Kreuzberg nights are long – our evening cruises through Berlin will stay with you even longer! Experience Berlin aboard the city’s oldest ship, almost 140 years old and now gliding silently and emission-free thanks to its electric propulsion. Relax on the spacious open-air deck or in one of our wood-panelled salons. We pass Holzmarkt 25, the iconic Oberbaum Bridge, the Badeschiff and the Hoppetosse, continuing to the Island of Youth by Treptower Park. There, we turn around and head back into the city, cruising towards the sunset. On board, you can enjoy a freshly tapped Kaiser beer, long drinks and delicious food – from Bockwurst from a Bio-Neuland butcher and fish sandwiches to a vegan Bockwurst alternative from the “Vegane Fleischerei.” Food and drinks are not included in the ticket price. On the return journey, discover historic Berlin, Berlin’s romantic charm, the illuminated restaurants and bars along Schiffbauerdamm, and the impressive government district.

Great Cruise, Music and Views
The cruise was fantastic. They had a jazz quartet on deck who played through the entire cruise and were terrific. The "Old Berlin Beer Evening Cruise" title led us to believe we'd get beer as part of our ticket price, but beer was not included. You could buy it on board for a reasonable price, so not a big deal, but the title is a bit misleading IMHO. Staff were super friendly, the boat seemed safe and clean. Great experience overall.
Response from the operator: Ahoy! Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! 😊 We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the jazz, the atmosphere and our friendly crew. We completely understand how the name “Old Berlin Beer Evening Cruise” might create different expectations, and we’re taking a closer look at how we can make this clearer. Thank you for the helpful feedback, and we hope to welcome you back on board soon! ⚓️

Misleading title
I’m giving this 3 stars because the name is misleading. This cruise has absolutely nothing to do with beer. It’s a lovely sunset cruise and if that’s how you think about it then lovely! But it’s literally no different than any other cruise. On board bar you order and pay for. Extremely limited food on board (herring sandwich or bratwurst sausage were the only entrees - hummus platter was good though). Eat before you go!
Response from the operator: Ahoy! Thank you for your honest feedback! 😊 We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the sunset atmosphere. We understand that the name may have created different expectations. Our Beer Cruise is designed as a relaxed evening cruise where you can enjoy a beer on board, rather than as a beer-tasting experience. We’re also currently updating our food menu and hope to offer a wider selection soon. ⚓️

Wonderful cruise on the Spree
An excellent cruise along the Spree with drinks on offer throughout, brought directly to you. We loved seeing all the different activities happening along the shore. So lovely to do this at sunset. It met all my expectations as a birthday treat for my husband.
Response from the operator: Ahoy! Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! 😊 We’re delighted to hear that you had such a lovely time on board and that the sunset cruise made your husband’s birthday celebration extra special. We hope to welcome you both back on board for another beautiful evening on the Spree! ⚓️

Lazily float along, and that’s it.
This is a very sedate experience perfect for someone who just wants to float along the river a bit and view the buildings. The boat was very crowded and it’s not really big enough to walk around and enjoy any movement. The staff were attentive, the beer was nice and cold and the food was actually good. The two and a half hours just kind of drag along, unfortunately.
Response from the operator: Ahoy! Thank you for your honest feedback! 😊 It’s great to hear that you enjoyed the atmosphere, attentive service, cold drinks and food. Our 2.5-hour Beer Cruise is designed as a relaxed evening experience. For a shorter trip, we also offer 1-hour cruises daily at 16:10 and 17:30. We hope to welcome you back soon! ⚓️

Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Berlin.
How much does Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship cost?
+
Prices start at $47 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Berlin usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Berlin is not rushed.
Is Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Berlin, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship?
+
Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Berlin can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Berlin and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Old Berlin Beer Evening – Sunset Cruise on a Steamship start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Berlin within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Berlin?
+
On Outty we rank every Berlin experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Berlin's Best: 2 Hour Walking Tour Third Reich and the Cold War, Communist East Berlin and Berlin Wall Small Group Walking Tour, Sachsenhausen concentration camp.. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Berlin?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Berlin?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
