Embrace the Outdoors: An Unforgettable Stockholm Nature Experience with Victor
Absolutely fantastic nature tour in Stockholm with our guide, Victor! He's a local who knows the area well, and his photography skills are impressive. Rain or shine, he remained dedicated, making the experience unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Winter Hike with Noisy Frozen Lake
I came to Sweden for a couple of winter nature experiences, and Green Trails stands out as one of the best organizations I went with. First, Patrick was a phenomenal guide. He's patient, relaxed, funny and tells hilarious stories. He strikes me as being in his element with his knowledge of animals and nature, but also of Swedish culture. The winter hike itself was phenomenal. We hiked a snowy forest infrequently visited by folks, and trekked across a huge frozen lake. We know we were safe, but it raced the heart to hear the loud, booming thunderclap noise of the lake adjusting to temperature changes! We didn't see critters but I wasn't expecting a lot there. If for nothing else, go along for the campfire vitals. The Finnish lentils at lunch with hot drinks and dessert hit the spot!! Great adventure!

A light adventure in a beautiful forest near Stockholm
Really enjoyable walk on an easy trail about half an hour outside Stockholm. We set off late morning from the pickup point, after introduction and brief instruction on what to expect on the trail. Our guide George was very familiar with the area and was able to tell us a great deal about the local area and the forest. The hike took us through the forest and around the lakes on mostly flat terrain. After few hours of walking we sat down for a lunch and coffee, provided by the organisers in a very picturesque and quiet area by the lake. With the lunch done, we took slightly different route back. There were quite a few other hikers in the area, but we managed to avoid the busy parts due to the knowledge of our guide. Overall we spent about 4 hours in the forest. While I would have preferred to have a slightly longer hike, the tour is aimed at an average walker and is not very demanding. It was a great day out in the forest with a mix of interesting people in the tour group to share the experience.

A perfect day hiking
My husband and I and our 21 year-old daughter recently went on a full day hike with Patrick as our guide. We all agreed it was our absolute favorite activity of our 5-day trip to Stockholm. We had perfect weather -- clear skies and warm but not hot temperatures -- and we to a national park about a 30-minute drive from downtown Stockholm. We learned a ton about the plants and animals in the area and thoroughly enjoyed the quiet and solitude of off-trail hiking. Patrick taught us how to identify edible and inedible mushrooms and we picked wild blueberries which we later ate with custard as dessert/fika. We learned fire-starting and cooked lunch over our fire. It was a perfect day. Patrick did a good job of tailoring the day to our abilities and interests and we loved hearing his stories about life in Sweden as a guide and teacher. We HIGHLY recommend Green Trails and Patrick in particular.

Bucketlist material
We had a lovely hike with our guide Patrick in Paradiset, roasted hotdogs over the fire and dipped our toes in the lake :-) Highly recommended!

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Stockholm.
How much does Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike cost?
+
Prices start at $134 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Stockholm usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Stockholm is not rushed.
Is Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 20 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Stockholm, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Stockholm can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Stockholm and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Off-Trail Nature Stockholm Hike start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Stockholm within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Stockholm?
+
On Outty we rank every Stockholm experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Stockholm: Walking Tour of the Old Town, Best of Stockholm: Small Group Walking Tour (Max 10, 3 Hours), Vasa Museum Guided Tour, Including Ticket & Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Stockholm?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Stockholm?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
