Unprofessional
They didn’t show up and after I messaged them they apologize due to some technical difficulty and further they said if they would’ve seen it, they would’ve told me to come earlier!!!!!
Response from the operator: Hello Nada, thank you for the feedback. I'm sorry we missed you on the tour as you booked last minute and the booking didn't come through. You have Been fully refunded

Great food tour.
Our host was Sara and she was just great. Really down to earth and easy to talk to. I really liked that the tour was out of Rome a bit because it gave you a chance to see a different side of Rome. The food was amazing and we were definitely full by the end of the tour. Would definitely recommend this tour to others visiting Rome.

Amazing Food
This was a great tour! Our tour actually ended up just being my husband and myself with the tour guide. We had some amazing pasta, coffee, basalmic vinegar, and other apéritifs. My favorite part of this tour had to be the pasta and gelato! So much taste and fresh flavors!
via Tripadvisor
Excellent experience.
Sara was a great tour guide, very informative and knowledgeable. She talked us through the history of Testaccio, the history of Rome and what to look out for when choosing food to eat. Very handy since we had only landed in Italy the day before. All the food on the tour was great, didn't need to eat after the tour because there was so much food! Only thing that disappointed us was the thought of the food we couldn't finish going to waste!

Delicious food, disappointing guide
The food on this tour was very good, a nice variety and all high quality. The tour took us through the Testaccio neighborhood on a nice walk. The guide was underwhelming. He didn’t give a lot of information about the food and had a very low key personality. He responded to questions when asked but didn’t volunteer much at all. It felt like he was going through the motions, and it ended 30 minutes early. We were a small group of four which was nice.

Why this scores 52
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio cost?
+
Prices start at $79 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 26 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Off the Beaten Path: Semi Private Rome Food and Wine Walking Tour in Testaccio start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
