    An interesting food tour

The tour is interesting for the introduction to authentic Cantonese dishes and delicacies (to be paid for separately) as well as the less-visited areas of Guangzhou. Do note that the guide’s English is not perfect and some patience would be needed to understand him.

    Enjoyable Tour

Walking tour was very good, visited places we would not have found on our own, food was ok. Janvi met us at our hotel and adapted the tour to suit us, only negative is he was too softly spoken for us to all hear what he was saying, so he often had to repeat himself or we found ourselves asking others in our group what had been said.

A great Tour of Sai Kwan

This tour was amazing there is so much history in Guangzhou, a place that is changing rapidly, yet still, in the "Old Town" retains its culture & reminds you of the China that was read about in history books. The Guide was both informative, friendly & you could tell he holds a special place for his work to show the rest of the world the wonders of China. Take the Metro, it is clean, efficient & mingle with the local culture from the beautiful parks to the Toaist temple to the street filled with Herbs & Herbalists ready to make you a remedy for anything that ails you, it is to be found on this tour. Ask your guide about Yum Cha as well as a fitting end to a wonderful tour: I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is going to Guangzhou.

Best walking tour in Guangzhou! Go with Janvi

I had a 10hr layover in Guangzhou and so I looked into walking tours. I stumbled upon Janvi's tour and I am so glad I did. Janvi is happy to customize the tour to exactly what interests you. I opted to have Janvi arrange a driver to drive us around as I didn't have a lot of time. You can really tell that Janvi is proud of his town, he has a great knowledge of history and will take the time to explain the story behind each spot. Try all the food he recommends! This was a very memorable trip. Thank you!

Superb tour of the real Guangzhou!

Janvi was a knowledgeable guide that has designed a tour that really gets you to understand Guangzhou - my day with Janvi was a very special experience. He loves and understands his city - his passion is reflected in the effort he has undertaken to produce such a superb tour, but he combines this with sound research and compelling historical information and images. His book is a great introduction to Guangzhou but you can't beat actually the experiences that Janvi took me through on this tour - awesome Janvi!!!!

Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Guangzhou.

How much does Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food cost?

    +

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Guangzhou usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Guangzhou is not rushed.

Is Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Guangzhou, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food?

    +

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Guangzhou can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Guangzhou and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Off-the-Beaten-Path Guangzhou Tour: Xiguan Hidden Gems & Food start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Guangzhou within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Guangzhou?

    +

On Outty we rank every Guangzhou experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Cycle Tour of Guangzhou, All-inclusive Private Day Tour to Mutianyu Great Wall, Guangzhou Tour Guide and Car Service With Flexible Itinerary. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Guangzhou?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Guangzhou?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
