Great holiday just the bad coffee.
Left on March 9th from Ottawa to Punta Cana on airtransat Ottawa airport as usual very easy. Flight better than usual lots of room on plane. Airport arrival as usual very busy but didn’t take long going through customs etc. Hard time finding bus to take us to hotel when we did find it had to wait 1 1/2 hrs on bus before we left. Not a good start. Took about 1 hour drive to hotel. Check in was fast no problems. Room spacious and very clean. Nice view from balcony. Looking onto lazy river and we could see the ocean. We were on 3 rd floor but there was an elevator, unfortunately we are not young anymore so that came in handy. Grounds are very well taken care of very clean always employees working outside. Lazy river was fantastic family used it every day only complaint people would take tubes with them so nobody else could use them. Very inconsiderate. Would advise to take your own. The beach is clean and lots of loungers available although mornings could be difficult. Drinks were delivered to you on beach by very friendly staff. There is a lagoon next to the hotel which was very nice use at your own risk. Entertainment was the usual not great but they do try hard. Kids loved the bowling alley. The food is ok have had better a little disappointing. But lots of variety. Ala carte .. forget the steak house we tried for a week and unable to get in. Blue moon was the best. Good food delicious. Japanese the usual but was good. The rest were good no problem getting in. Coffee was terrible. Been going to Mexico and D.R. For about 20 years and this was the worst. Terrible. They do have a coffee shop Mikes. Coffee not much better. Staff are great very friendly. Always an ola. All in all was good stay no snow just a few irritants. The lighthouse is a must beautiful views from the top.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience and for visiting Punta Cana! 😊 We’re happy to hear that your flight, airport process, and hotel check-in went smoothly overall. We do apologize for the inconvenience and long wait you experienced while locating and boarding your transportation. At the moment, the airport is undergoing construction and reorganization in some pickup areas, which has unfortunately caused delays and confusion for some arriving guests. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. We hope the rest of your vacation was enjoyable and relaxing, and we look forward to welcoming you back to Punta Cana in the future! 🌴🚐

When we arrived, they...
When we arrived, they were there and waiting. After a four hour flight, we were looking forward to having some drinks and snacks. However, they had no water nor snacks nor beer.
via Viator
No English
The driver was good although he could not speak English so we had no idea where we were going or who was taking us there. I thought we were supposed to get complementary drinks and snacks but non were offered.

The best Punta Cana transportation
The airport transfer service was fantastic…. Our drivers Daniel & Sebastian were punctual, friendly, and ensured a smooth and comfortable ride from the airport to our hotel. They were professional and knowledgeable about the area, answering our questions and providing helpful information. We felt safe and secure throughout the entire ride.

Shuttle from airport to Ocean el Faro
Not very organized but the service is useful. When you arrive, it's a bit of a mess. It's confusing where they want you to go. When leaving it is much more smooth. They get you to the airport on time.

Why this scores 47
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.
How much does Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport cost?
+
Prices start at $133 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.
Is Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 47 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ocean El Faro Resort - Round Trip Shuttle - Punta Cana Airport start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?
+
On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Punta Cana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
