Amazing experience- great staff and easy to work with! Highly recommended!

AMAZING experience!! My family of 4 just returned from a 8 night O'ahu trip and the absolute HIGHLIGHT was when we went out on the boat with Kevin last Wednesday! I will also say the person who booked us prior to our trip was friendly and super knowledgeable and helpful - really set the tone for our excursion. Parking was easy to find, and Kevin went above and beyond turning what was supposed to be a snorkeling excursion into the best marine tour ever! Thanks to Lala, the water was too murky for us to snorkel but our kiddos still had a blast being out on the boat, ending up in the middle of a pod of 200+ spinner dolphins and watching the babies attempt spins with their mamas by their side! We also were lucky enough to see a honu in the open waters and then attempted to see sharks! Overall, can't recommend this enough- Kevin was so great!! We will definitely be back!!

    Adventure of a lifetime!

I’ve been all around the world and have had a lot of epic adventures, but this was absolutely BEYOND. We went out with Kevin (nicest, funnest host ever) on his yellow boat, and we saw hundreds of dolphins and five sharks—literally right under and alongside our boat. We saw whales breaching just a few hundred feet away. But the best part of the day, something so unique that I’ve never experienced, was literally surfing gigantic Waimea waves and watching Pipeline pumping from the backside of the ocean. There’s nothing like the thrill of catching these waves, witnessing the huge faces, seeing the building-high sprays, all while fearless surfers were towed in just in front of us, ripping the swell as if they were in flight. Kevin is so professional and his energy is infectious—he knows just how fast to go and chooses waves that hit the adrenaline without ever making you feel like you’re in danger. He gives you unforgettable adventure without terrifying his clients, which is a fine line. I know I’ll be back on his boat next time I visit, because there’s no one else on the North Shore (or anywhere else I’ve been, frankly), who can offer a comparable experience. I’m incredibly grateful— just wow.

    Super Fun

My family had a really fun and memorable day. The views from the water were incredible. We stopped for a swim and loved jumping off the top of the boat into the water. Kevin made it a great trip!

    Amazing boat, crew and sunset

Kevin was amazing. We had the best time on our private sunset cruise. He took us to some sharks, turtles, snorkeling and my favorite…beautiful sunset. The boat is super clean, fast and rides smooth. Kevin will take great care of you.

Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.

How much does Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter cost?

    +

Prices start at $1200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.

Is Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Oahu: Private North Shore Boat Charter start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Oahu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Oahu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Oahu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
