Great Experience
I had such a wonderful experience taking an abstract painting class with Lee. He is incredibly talented, but what really stood out to me was how patient and genuinely caring he is as a teacher. He has a way of making you feel completely at ease, no matter your skill level, and he gives thoughtful, encouraging guidance without ever being intimidating. Lee creates an environment that feels both inspiring and supportive, which made it easy to relax and really enjoy the creative process. His studio is also warm, inviting, and thoughtfully set up in a way that makes you want to stay and paint for hours. I left the class feeling energized, more confident, and excited to keep painting. I can’t recommend Lee highly enough.
Response from the operator: Hello, Frank, Thank you so much for your incredibly kind and thoughtful words! It was truly a pleasure having you in my art studio. I'm so glad you felt comfortable, inspired, and supported throughout the class—that's exactly the experience I hope to create for every participant, regardless of their artistic background. Seeing your confidence grow and watching your creativity come to life was one of the highlights of the session. Thank you again for your recommendation, and I look forward to painting with you again soon!

Great experience!
Such a cool experience! I loved this class. He is an inspiring instructor. He did a great job of explaining the process. He even gave me a poster and a sweatshirt to take with me. I appreciate you, Ligel! I think this would be a great thing to do for a birthday or special occasion. Such a relaxing, fun experience!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m so glad you enjoyed the class and found it relaxing and fun. It means a lot to hear that the process felt clear and inspiring, and I’m happy the poster and sweatshirt added a little extra to your experience. I completely agree—this is a perfect way to celebrate a birthday or special occasion! I’d love to welcome you back anytime to create together again.

Highly Recommends!
Ligel was an incredibly attentive painting instructor, and the class made for a fantastic birthday outing. I had such a great time and really appreciated the combination of guidance with the freedom of abstract expression. You rarely find many guided yet freeform abstract painting classes, and while it can be fun to know exactly what you are painting, Ligel’s approach to teaching is even more enjoyable. I left with a piece I’m proud of that now hangs on my wall.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! I’m thrilled to hear you had a great time and enjoyed the balance of guidance and creative freedom in the class. It’s wonderful that you left with a piece you’re proud of—I love seeing my students’ work find a home on their walls. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and I’d be delighted to welcome you back for another painting adventure anytime!

Beautiful experience and beautiful art.
My husband and I booked this as a date activity. Ligel is an incredible instructor. He's patient, gives clear instructions, and makes the entire experience enjoyable. The space was fantastic to move around in and be creative. We love our art and the time spent making it. The layering technique was super fun and cool. We highly recommend trying this. You get a poster as a take away gift which are stunning and personalized art pieces by Ligel. Can't wait to hang them in our home!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your husband had such an enjoyable experience and loved exploring the layering technique. Ligel will be delighted by your kind words! It’s fantastic that your personalized art pieces are ready to bring joy to your home. We’d love for more friends and family to share in this creative experience, so feel free to recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, hands-on date or art activity. We can’t wait to welcome you back for your next session!

Painting!!!
Ligel was our teacher for the evening and he was just so easy and inspiring, even though painting/drawing aren’t naturally comfortable creative spaces for me. I really enjoyed the playfulness of the process and how freeform it was. Such a perfect entry to creating in that medium and I left wanting to explore that side of myself more. Playing and creating feed the soul, and their benefits can’t be understated and Ligel offers the perfect vibe for both of these things. I highly recommend his class.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your thoughtful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you felt inspired and at ease while exploring your creative side. Ligel will be delighted by your kind words! It’s wonderful that the class left you excited to continue playing and creating—there’s nothing like the joy and nourishment that art brings. We’d love for your friends and family to experience this too, so please feel free to share and recommend the class. We can’t wait to welcome you back for more creative adventures!

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bronx.
How much does NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bronx usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bronx is not rushed.
Is NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bronx, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bronx can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bronx and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does NYC: Abstract Painting with Palette Knives – Small Group start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bronx within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bronx?
+
On Outty we rank every Bronx experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-Garden Pass for the New York Botanical Garden, Bronx Zoo Admission Ticket, Harlem Renaissance Multimedia Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bronx?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bronx?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
