For the manta rays in Manta Bay Nusa Penida Bali, it is a type of Coral Manta (Manta alfredi). This type of manta is the second largest type of manta rays after the Oceanic Manta. Although it has a long tail, it is not poisonous, so swimming with manta rays is very safe. In addition to having a long tail, this manta ray has the largest brain when compared to other bony fish. They are very happy to interact with humans, therefore Manta Bay Snorkeling Nusa Penida is the best choice for snorkelers and divers to capture the best experience with these Mantas.

Crystal Bay
Crystal Bay is, together with Gamat Bay, one of the best sites to go snorkeling in Nusa Penida. Discover the coral and marine life of this beautiful spot, you can see turtles quite regularly, as well as a lot of different fish and very colorful coral. This site can get very crowded during mola-mola ocean sunfish season (July-October). While it is a great snorkeling site to spot mola-molas, there are plenty of other sites around Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. Where the chance to meet the exclusive fish is just as good and where the smaller number of snorkeler and boats makes the experience a lot nicer.

Kelingking Beach
In Kelingking Beach you can enjoy the sweeping views from a purpose-built platform, which is bordered by bamboo fences. If you dare the challenging trek down to the beach, make sure it’s during low tide. Some sections of the path can be steep, requiring a bit of rock climbing, especially on the way back up. Locals have put rocks and bamboos to aid visitors over the years. Once you’ve reached the sand, you’ll have it all to yourself most of the time. Depending on tide conditions, the waters are swimmable.

Pasih Uug Beach
Broken Beach or Pasih Uug spot is marked by a hilly arch-like rock formation, which is the distinguishable landmark of the area. Set over the crashing waves of the open Indian Ocean, Broken Beach is a great spot for travel photographers and panoramic view seekers. The adjacent area is also home to grey long-tailed macaques. If you’re lucky, you may spot silhouettes of giant mantas near the surface of the deep blue water.

Angel's Billabong located nearby Pasih Uug (Broken Beach), another popular site with unique limestone formations. The naturally formed rock lagoon offers a scenic seascape. You can descend into its crystal-clear rock pools for a swim or a soak, but only during low tide. The rock pools are one of the must-sees for visitors to Nusa Penida. The island itself is famous for its beautiful cliffs and pristine coastlines. Both Angel's Billabong and Broken Beach are very popular sites here.

Great experience at nusa penida
Ngurah really took care of us since he is a common friend. We went manta ray snorkeling in nusa penida but the waves were very rough and we ended up getting seasick. Good thing the rest of the trip was more of sight seeing

Great if all you want is some good photos for your instagram
Nusa Penida is an interesting case of Instagram bringing a place to life, but at the same time destroying it. Tourists are flocking to this island for its insta worthy locations, and the poor wee island can't cope. The required infrastructure isn't there - the roads are narrow, unstable/rocky, windy and hilly, the vehicles aren't the right vehicles to navigate those roads, half of this trip is purely driving 15km per hour along narrow bumpy roads in shuttles with bad tires and no suspension, and there is little to no waste management. The locals appreciate the tourism as it brings in money, but their beautiful island is a large garbage heap as a result. The tours you pay for aren't the tours I expected - rather than a guide providing you with cultural, local and historical information, your driver rushes you from place to place, takes your photo for you (for the gram), and off to the next place. Nobody is stopping to soak up the view and enjoy, rather, everybody is jostling for the perfect photo. It's a bit chaotic. The morning was spent snorkeling at 4 different spots. This was also slightly rushed, but much more fun than the afternoon of driving. The snorkeling was mostly good, though a lot of the coral is dying or already dead, so there weren't as many fish as expected. We did get to snorkel with huge manta rays however, which was the highlight of the day trip and entirely worth it! Be sure to bring a towel and changes of clothes and shoes (bring thongs/jandals/sandals).
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback regarding Nusa Penida tour, apologize if the tour is not what you think. Nusa Penida is a new tourist destination, to go to the tourist attractions the road and parking lots is still under development by the government. Regarding the road to tourism, we cannot do much because it is beyond our authority, we can only submit your complaint to the local government.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Seminyak.
How much does Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Seminyak usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Seminyak is not rushed.
Is Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Seminyak, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 11-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Seminyak can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Seminyak and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Nusa Penida Snorkeling Tour - Departure From Bali start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Seminyak within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Seminyak?
+
On Outty we rank every Seminyak experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Best of Bali Waterfalls: Tibumana, Tukad Cepung and Tegenungan, Bali Instagram Tour: The Most Scenic Spots, Ubud Hot Springs and Waterfall Private Guided Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Seminyak?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Seminyak?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
