    Surreal and serene!

An experience absolutely worth it. We were able to see the Aurora in all its glory. Robin was an amazing guide who took us to the perfect spots to experience the Aurora. More so the photographs he clicked were amazing. Also, the hot choc and marshmallows were cherry on the top! Definitely recommending.

    Northern lights tour with Robin

Robin was the best tour guide, he guided us to see the northern lights in the best spots, and made it extremely fun and took care of everyone, would highly recommend if you’re itching to see the aurora and to be around a fire with hot chocolate and marshmallows, me and my girlfriend had the most amazing time😁

    Amazing experience, great tour !

We loved our tour! I did the tour with my 7 years old and it was an excellent experience for both of us. The guide is very well experienced, he knows where to take you to great aurora spots, very fun, responsive, he actually managed to include us 30 min before the tour (as we didn’t get the chance to see the auroras the previous day and our flight was the next day). Robin made our dream come true! We enjoyed as well the amount of pictures taken, the marshmallows next to the fire and we got also dropped off at the door of our Airbnb (greatly appreciated since my child was sleeping deeply). Do not hesitate to book your NL tour here !!!

    Great Northern Light Tour

I reached out to Robin for last minute reservation inquiry and he was very prompt to reply and managed to accommodate my last minute request during the busy tourist season. I very much enjoyed his friendly spirit throughout the tour and his effort to ensure that we all had a great experience chasing the Northern Lights (even at one point attempted to talk to a homeowner who had outdoor lights obstructing our night sky view). Also, his skills at taking pictures of the Northern Lights did not disappoint. The tour was even more delightfully by the presence of his lovely pet, Burger. Thank you Robin and Burger for a memorable Northern Lights Tour.

Northern lights photography tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.

How much does Northern lights photography tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $330 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Northern lights photography tour take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.

Is Northern lights photography tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 55 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Northern lights photography tour?

    +

Is Northern lights photography tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Northern lights photography tour?

    +

Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tromso?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tromso?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
