A very disappointing experience
We rented 3 electric bikes from Mobilboard Nice for 4 hours, and unfortunately the experience was far below what we expected. When we arrived, we were asked for a €900 deposit (€300 per bike). The problem is that, before making the reservation, I could not find this amount clearly stated on the Mobilboard Nice website. When I simply asked the staff to show me where the €300-per-bike deposit was mentioned on their website, their reaction was, in my opinion, completely unprofessional and unnecessarily aggressive. I was told that it was “arrogant” to ask for this information, and they even wanted to cancel our reservation because we questioned the deposit. I believe it is perfectly reasonable for a customer to ask where a €900 deposit is disclosed, especially before handing over such a significant amount of money. Unfortunately, the condition of the bikes was also disappointing. One of the bikes had several issues during the rental: * the chain repeatedly came off while riding; * the mudguard kept coming loose from its screws; * the kickstand was not properly secured. Overall, the bikes did not give us the impression that they had been properly checked or maintained before being rented out. Technical problems can happen, but the combination of poorly maintained bikes, lack of transparency regarding the €900 deposit, and the aggressive attitude of the staff when we asked for a simple clarification made this a very unpleasant experience. I would have expected much better transparency, customer service and professionalism, especially from a business serving tourists in Nice.
Response from the operator: Dear Mr Porumb, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations and would like to provide some clarification regarding your rental. The deposit we ask is only a pre-authorisation, which is part of our rental conditions and is indicated during the online booking process. Requesting a security deposit is standard practice in any rental facility, particularly for material such as electric bikes whose individual value can exceed €3,000. This deposit is intended solely to cover potential damage, loss or theft during the rental period, and is released right away once the material is returned. On the day of your rental, you were given our O2feel premium electric bikes. These are high-quality bikes equipped with Shimano motors, offering excellent comfort, performance and reliability. Regarding the technical issue you experienced, our bikes are inspected and checked regularly by our technicians, particularly during the very busy summer season. Nevertheless, as with any mechanical equipment, an adjustment issue involving a derailleur or chain can occasionally occur during use. This is also why we recommend testing the bike for a few minutes at the beginning of the rental to make sure everything is functioning perfectly. When one of your bikes experienced a chain/derailleur issue less than 100m away from our agency, only a few minutes after the beginning of your rental, our team immediately replaced the bike so that you could continue your rental without further inconvenience. No additional technical problem was reported to us for the remainder of the rental. We are sorry that the initial discussion regarding the security deposit became tense. Our intention was never to make you feel unwelcome, but simply to apply the same rental and security conditions that we apply to all our customers. We remain committed to maintaining our equipment carefully and providing our customers with safe, reliable bikes and responsive assistance whenever an issue occurs. The Mobilboard Nice Team

Cruising on e-bikes.
Fun, fun, fun. Rented e-bikes for 4 hours to do a bit of exploring in Nice on our own. The bikes were good quality and rode well. Loved the Turbo option for uphill climbing. Staff was pleasant and showed us everything we needed to know about the bikes. Only issue was that the bike lock leaked grease/oil when we used it. I am sure that it was lubricated so that we wouldn't have problems when using it so it was just a small issue. We rode the bikes on the promenade and also on the road. We rode all the way to VilleFrance. Warning!!! There is a bike lane from Nice to VilleFrance, but there is not a bike lane on the road from VilleFrance back to Nice. Be careful! We wore helmets for extra protection. Loved that we were able to explore on our own and travel around Nice at our own pace. You can not ride the bikes in Old Town - streets are cobblestone, narrow and very populated! We would rent them again.

Great experience-would recommend
We had the e bikes for a day in Nice France. They all worked great. Pretty lightweight and had an amazing time. Very easy to navigate as bike paths for most of the city and on the promenade. Provided locks and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Nice day on e-bikes
Rented 3 e-bikes and rode along the dedicated bike path from Nice to Antibes. It was a tremendous value and Viator did an exceptional job of communicating with me from the day I made my reservation to the day we rode the bikes. Matteo at the rental company Mobileboard was excellent. Everything was as promised. The communication with Viator was exceptional.

Convenient bike rental to the beaches.
If you'd like to get some exercise instead of shopping while in Nice, this is a great option. The bike shop is one block from the beach, and there is a nice bike path that runs along it. We biked to Le Fort Carre and back (25 miles or so), on bike path the whole way. The stretch by the airport isn't as scenic as the rest, but you can ride mostly along the water. Bikes worked great and we still had 3/4 battery left when finished.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Nice Electric Bike Rental: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nice.
How much does Nice Electric Bike Rental cost?
+
Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Nice Electric Bike Rental take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nice is not rushed.
Is Nice Electric Bike Rental worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 46 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Nice Electric Bike Rental?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Nice Electric Bike Rental suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Nice Electric Bike Rental?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nice and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Nice Electric Bike Rental start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Nice?
+
On Outty we rank every Nice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include ★ Walking Tour of Old Nice and Castle Hill, NO DIET CLUB - Unique Local Food in Nice !, Nice City Segway Sightseeing Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nice?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nice?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
