CN Tower
On your right is the iconic CN Tower, perhaps the most noticeable feature of the Toronto skyline. The tower is 553 metres high and constructed of concrete. A LOT OF CONCRETE. Despite the challenges facing designers, the tower was built in under three years and opened in October of 1976, which coincidentally, is the last time the Maple Leafs had a season worth watching. In a moment you’ll pass under the Rainbow bridge, the bridge that leads to Niagara Falls, USA. This structure was built after ice in the river destroyed its predecessor, the Honeymoon Bridge in 1938.

Over the next 12 kilometres you will drop from 176 metres above sea level at the Brock Monument to the shoreline at 75 metres above sea level.
