What you get
About this experience
Unique private tour for up to four people. Enjoy the real New York Skyline, not the partial views you get from Dumbo, observatories, rooftop bars, and helicopters. Only from across the Hudson River can you get unobstructed panoramic views of the entire New York City skyline. No lines, no waiting, no meeting points hard to find, no headaches to cancel, and no crowds! Just you and Paolo in a comfortable electric car. I'm a local who will take you to the best viewing spots, provide information about what we're seeing, and share personal stories and experiences acquired as a New Jersey Waterfront resident and while working for years in Hudson Yards and the World Trade Center, the skyline's two dominant forces. A fellow traveler who knows the value of an authentic experience, away from tourist traps, I love to show New York's #1 attraction and see the wonder on visitors' faces when they encounter the stunning New York Skyline panoramic views from New Jersey.

Great local tour from NJ viewing the NYC skyline
We had an amazing experience touring the New York skyline with Paolo! What made this tour so special was how authentic and personal it felt. As a true local living between Manhattan and New Jersey, Paolo shared not only the history of the area, but also his own personal insights and experiences, which made everything much more engaging and memorable. Paolo was incredibly warm, caring, charismatic, and funny throughout the entire tour. He was also very accommodating to our needs and made us feel comfortable from start to finish. One of the highlights was that he took us to hidden spots with some of the absolute best skyline views — places we never would have discovered on our own. We also appreciated being able to stop for food along the way, which made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable rather than rushed. Traveling around in Paolo’s private car was another huge plus — it was very clean, comfortable, and convenient. This tour actually made us feel much more confident and excited about returning to visit Hoboken and Weehawken in the future. We also highly recommend taking the ferry from Manhattan to New Jersey instead of driving to the meeting point — it was easy, accessible, and added to the experience. Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting a unique, local, and unforgettable view of the New York skyline!

Beautiful Art, Stories and Magical Views
A few nights ago we went on a fabulous private tour of the Manhattan Skyline with Paolo on the New Jersey side. The different views from afternoon, evening and then at night were magical. Instead of looking up at the buildings in Manhattan we had beautiful unobstructed views from special locations. Pics don't do it justice. We enjoyed all of the stops in the itinerary while riding in a very comfortable vehicle with drop off and pick up services throughout. Paolo is very patient, accommodating and knowledgeable. We learned so much and truly enjoyed the entire time we spent with him. We also loved the parks, walking the waterfront, the artwork we may not have otherwise noticed, and the special Newport art piece that is a sign of peace to us. Thank you Paolo for showing us 'Aloha" while in New Jersey. We felt like VIPs.

Magical NYC Skyline
, · This was undoubtedly the best NYC or NJ tour I've ever been on. The host Paolo was so informative and personable and went out of his way to make this an incredible experience. We drove to several locations on the New Jersey waterfront, the scenes becoming more magnificent as we traveled north. There was time to walk around a couple piers. And I took his suggestion to take the ferry back to Midtown, which was also great. The views from the other side will remain in your memory for a long time. I recommend this highly for anyone visiting NYC.

New Jersey skyline and waterfront tour
This is a MUST DO!!! The guide is Paolo, and he contacted us via text shortly after booking this tour. We texted back and forth a few times regarding our wants and needs during the tour with some customization. A couple days before the tour, we talked on the phone and finalized some details and our exact pickup location at our hotel, making our tour much easier for us. The tour took us to all the waterfront locations we would be interested in seeing, stopping at some to explore, driving by others. Paolo's knowledge and desire to provide a positive experience was the highlight of the tour. We had our parents with us who were in the late 80's. Paolo took great care of them. The sights gave us an amazing overview of the Jersey shore and New York skyline. We toured in the morning but will definitely return to tour at sunset. Paolo helped us find a good location to have lunch after the tour and dropped us off at the end of the tours at the lunch spot, making it very convenient for us. If you are looking for an overview of Jersey waterfront, this is a great tour.

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jersey City.
How much does New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jersey City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jersey City is not rushed.
Is New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jersey City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jersey City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jersey City and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does New York Skyline Magic - The Real Skyline With a Real Local start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jersey City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Jersey City?
+
Jersey City offers Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island departures from Liberty State Park, skyline photo cruises, waterfront cycling and quick PATH access into Manhattan. On Outty we rank every Jersey City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Washington D.C., Niagara Falls & Philadelphia 3-Day Tour from NYC, Niagara Falls 2-Day Tour from NYC with Corning & Finger Lakes, 5-Day Niagara Falls, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City from NYC. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Jersey City?
+
April to June and September to November. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Jersey City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
