Walking tour Garden District
The walking tour of the Graden District was excellent. James was our tour guide and met us on time at the meeting point. This was a small group which also was exceptional. The weather was good as we moved the tour from Saturday to Monday due to rain. We walked and toured the area. James provided excellent information about the city, the architecture, the types of trees, and took us to several well known houses of Nick Cage, John Goodman, Archie Manning, and Sandra Bullock. He answered all of our groups’ questions. The tour lasted about 2 hours and we walked about a mile. It was the best end to our trip with a recommendation for lunch. Highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you for this fantastic review and recommendation! James is indeed an excellent guide who gives a Garden District tour that is a combination of history, architecture, pop culture, and humor. We agree that it is the best way to spend two hours in this lush, elegant neighborhood. Thank you so much for booking with us and for taking the time to share your impressions of our tour in your review. Please come again! Libby

Nice Garden District Tour
It was a beautiful day for this Garden District tour! Our host was very personable and knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed having a smaller group. We took a relaxing stroll through the neighborhood while learning about the history and beautiful mansions, with plenty of opportunities to stop and take photos. The Garden District has such a different feel from other parts of New Orleans, so it was really nice to experience another side of the city. Overall, the tour was informative, fun, and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this tour and this host!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this wonderful review! We agree that visitors to New Orleans should see as many neighborhoods as they can, because each one is a little different. We are so happy that you chose us to show you around this lovely, lush, historic district. Please come again! Libby

Informative for even longtime New Orleans residents
We did the small group Garden District tour with Erin on Saturday September 19th 2026. Erin was a fantastic guide & we learned so much about the history of New Orleans and the Garden District. Even my niece who graduated from Tulane and has lived in New Orleans the last 20 years learned a lot from this tour. Erin was super informative and also very friendly and charming. Our group was a few minutes late and she was very accommodating & helpful about helping us meet up with the group. (Though I recommend *not* being late—you won’t want to miss one minute of this tour!) We were in the 4pm tour and it was pretty hot so be sure to bring a water bottle and wear comfy clothes & shoes. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone whether they’re new to New Orleans or have lived here a long time.
Response from the operator: Wow! If this review gets some locals on our Garden District tour, that would be wonderful! Thank you so much for singing Erin‘s praises. She certainly deserves it. Also, your review offers some very helpful advice. Comfort is key for enjoying any walking tour, especially one in our humid late summers. Thank you for choosing us to show you around, and please walk with us again next time you are in New Orleans. Libby

Is New Orleans Small-Group Garden District Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 1,618 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in New Orleans, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule New Orleans Small-Group Garden District Walking Tour?

What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Orleans and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in New Orleans?
+
New Orleans runs on licensed guides, and it shows: the city requires certification for tour guides, so the floor is higher here than most US cities. Ghost and cemetery walks, French Quarter food crawls, plantation history day trips and swamp boat runs make up the bulk. We rank on whether the operator handles cemetery access properly, since St. Louis No. 1 needs an authorised guide. On Outty we rank every New Orleans experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat Tour with Transportation, New Orleans Adults-Only True Crime and Ghost Walking Tour, New Orleans Garden District History Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Orleans?
+
February to May and October to November. August is heat and storm season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Orleans?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
