The tour of a lifetime!
I asked my hotel concierge which tour to book and he said this was the one. We did the 6 person tour to get the most personalized experience. Jay was our tour guide, a Barataria Island native and very knowledgeable and passionate about the area, the wildlife, fish, birds and history. The ride was fast and fun in between areas of mire exploration. We saw a cemetery that is losing ground, parts of the swamp that were widened due to forestry needs and from hurricane damage. He answered all questions and called out to the gators in French…the females came runnIng! Obviously familiar with Jay and knowing there was nothing to fear, we had 4 gators around our boat. We tossed marshmallows to them before Jay got out the hot dogs and showed us a lot of excitement with gators even up on the boat. He’d kiss them and stick his head in their mouths for a bit of fun that didn’t seem overly dangerous (just exciting) The snap of their jaws will be a sound to remember! A great time and worth every penny for the smaller tour experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave this review! We're thrilled to hear you had a wonderful experience on your swamp tour and we hope to see you again in the future.

A great experience
This Airboat tour was so much more than just a boat ride to look at Alligators. If you are lucky enough to have Jacob as your guide, you will learn so much more.
Response from the operator: Thank you for recommending Airboat Adventures. We're happy to hear that Captain Jacob showed you a good time on your swamp tour!

Swampy fun!
This was a fabulous experience. It really surpassed my expectations. I thought we would maybe see a few gators, but we saw a lot of them and also it was so great having our own airboat and we felt like we were out there all by ourselves. There weren’t a bunch of other boats all around us all the time. The scenery was just beautiful annd our guide, Steve, was really knowledgeable about the area and a great host. This was a definite highlight of our trip and I would recommend it to anyone. We had four adults and two kids and everyone loved it.
Response from the operator: We're happy to hear that Captain Steve showed you a good time on your swamp tour! Thank you for letting Airboat Adventures show you the beauty of Louisiana!

Perfect way to go gator watching
I always wanted to take an airboat ride/tour and I am so glad I did this one when I was visiting New Orleans. I booked the six-passenger ride for 9:45 AM on a Sunday and wore a t-shirt, shorts and a windbreaker which was perfect for the ride. There is plenty of parking in the gravel lot and easy check-in at the building that houses restrooms and a small gift shop. You are directed to the covered dock area where they will take your photo in front of a back drop and you wait until your boat is called. Steve was our guide, he gave us some safety info then we took off at 9:50. He said he would let us know when to put the ear protection on after we got out of the harbor area. Then he let it rip and we went zooming through the marshes which were so unique and beautiful. We ended up seeing several gators that were easily 400 lbs. just sunning themselves on the banks. Saw two eagles, numerous other birds and at least two dozen other gators of varying sizes. Steve said it was an absolute perfect morning and that's why we were able to see so many. He was very informative and you could tell that he loved being out on the water and seeing these amazing reptiles in their natural habitat. We got back to the dock around 11:30 and the staff were waiting there with the photos they took earlier in case you want to purchase them. This was well organized, safe, fun and a great way to spend a morning. Loved it and would do it again!
Response from the operator: We're happy to hear that Captain Steve showed you a good time on your swamp tour! We hope you'll tell your friends or come back and see us. New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Orleans.
How much does New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $119 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Orleans usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Orleans is not rushed.
Is New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Orleans, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Orleans can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Orleans and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does New Orleans Premium Six-Passenger Airboat Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Orleans within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in New Orleans?
+
New Orleans runs on licensed guides, and it shows: the city requires certification for tour guides, so the floor is higher here than most US cities. Ghost and cemetery walks, French Quarter food crawls, plantation history day trips and swamp boat runs make up the bulk. We rank on whether the operator handles cemetery access properly, since St. Louis No. 1 needs an authorised guide. On Outty we rank every New Orleans experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include New Orleans Swamp and Bayou Boat Tour with Transportation, New Orleans Swamp Tour Boat Adventure, New Orleans Self-Transport Swamp and Bayou Boat Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit New Orleans?
+
February to May and October to November. August is heat and storm season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in New Orleans?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
