Old Delhi food tour with Chef Aditya

Old Delhi Food Tour with Chef Aditya 🌶️🇮🇳 What an unforgettable experience exploring Old Delhi with Chef Aditya! From the moment we started, it was clear we were in expert hands. His knowledge, passion, and genuine love for the food and culture made the entire tour incredibly special. We wandered through bustling streets and hidden corners, tasting an amazing variety of dishes, everything from crispy dal kachori and flavour-packed aloo sabzi to sweet treats like nagori halwa and rasgulla. Every stop had a story, and every bite was better than the last. A highlight was trying things we never would have discovered on our own like the incredible stuffed orange kulfi and the refreshing lassi served in traditional clay cups. Chef Aditya made sure we felt comfortable, explained each dish, and shared insights into Old Delhi’s rich culinary history. If you want an authentic, delicious, and truly immersive food experience, I can’t recommend this tour enough. It’s not just about the food, it’s about the people, the stories, and the vibrant energy of Old Delhi. Thank you, Chef Aditya, for such a memorable day!

We EAT, WALK and CHAT

Got Aditya as my guide. As I pointed out we ate a lot. Dont' just skip breakfast but go or Fasting the day before. But aside from tasting amazing foods. I got to learn more about India and the culture of the city. You almost dont' need to do a city tour after this one .

Response from the operator: Namaste and thanks a lot for writing this 5-star review. Your kind words are very encouraging and much appreciated. We look forward to seeing you again very soon. Regards

Reassuring and supportive guides

I attended this tour today, and had a wonderful experience. I had a lot of anxiety leading up to the tour as Delhi is very different to my country. The guides were really understanding and reassuring and I felt very safe. I would’ve not have had such a great experience without their insight and knowledge which made it definitely worth the tour. I highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Namaste Kate, Glad to know that you enjoyed your tour after all your anxiety. Thank you for trusting us and sharing your experience with us. Hope we see you again on your next trip to India. Thanks again! Team - Food Tour In Delhi

Great "Foodie-Experience"!!

Because the „chef“ normally doing the tour was unavailable, danish showed me around. Danish was very helpful and knowledgeable and tried to accomodate me as best as possible. We skipped some shops because I don’t eat cheese but I couldn’t imagine eaten even more of the tremendous food we had, especially after doing a cooking class before. The narrow and bustling streets, the hustle and stupefying traffic and the diverse foodstands and small shops in the old town were amazing. The spice market was a real highlight as well. Even though I normally couldn’t smell anything because of a cold I just had the whole air smelled of cumin and other spices. When we went up to the chili area we both got a cough and had to leave. Unimaginable how somebody can work under those conditions. The view from the top of the market was simply amazing. My highlight among lots of tremendous food joints was the pomegranate juice kulfi (definitely the best sorbet I ever had, just very intense and not too sweet) and the chicken aslam kebap we enjoyed on the top level of the restaurant. All in all around 15 different specialties, better avoid food before going on the tour or you will regret it. A wonderful evening with a knowledgeable host, one of the best foodie tours I ever had! I highly recommend doing it!

Response from the operator: Namaste Martin, Thank you for such elaborate review. It was wonderful meeting a foodie like you. We hope to see you again on your next trip to India and this time we will make you try some more amazing food in other cities of India. Till then, keep eating! Team - Food Tour In Delhi

New Delhi Food Walk With Chef: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does New Delhi Food Walk With Chef cost?

+

Prices start at $85 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does New Delhi Food Walk With Chef take?

+

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is New Delhi Food Walk With Chef worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule New Delhi Food Walk With Chef?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is New Delhi Food Walk With Chef suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book New Delhi Food Walk With Chef?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does New Delhi Food Walk With Chef start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

+

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
