    Margaritaville Islander Cruise

We went onThe Margaritaville Islander Cruise out of Tampa Florida. The ship is beautiful. The food was great. Especially cheeseburger in paradise. Our room was clean and made up twice a day. We had dinner in JWB steak house and it was excellent. Our waiter was very attentive. Also the casino comp program is one of the best. I would give it a 10.

Response from the operator: Hello Kim, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful experience! We’re thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the Margaritaville Islander Cruise. We do want to note that this cruise is not an excursion offered by Island Routes, but we appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Your kind words truly capture the spirit of a great Caribbean experience, and we’re delighted to hear that everything met your expectations. Thank you again for sharing, and we look forward to welcoming you on one of our Island Routes excursions in the future! Best, IR Experience

    Awesome experience

We did the Catamaran Cruise to Ricks not Margaritaville- but that cruise isn't listed. We had an amazing time! The crew made it fun and most of the couples on board were friendly and wanted to have a good time. The cruise starts with you wading in waist deep water to get to the boat. We brought waterproof bags for our phones/wallet. Then you get out a ways and go snorkeling. Everything is provided for you. And they sanitize everything as soon as you're done using it (we saw one of the crew scrubbing it down.) Next you go to Rick's cafe. You need to swim to get there. You will be fully in the water- so a waterproof bag is a must! I jumped off the 10 ft cliff and my husband did the 20 ft cliff. One of our friends got a burger and drink from Rick's (about $30.) You had enough time to jump a few times, check out the live entertainment and get a drink. Then you get back on the boat and they turn on the dance music! We got to see the sunset on the boat and the lifeguards/crew made sure that you were dancing and having a good time. This was one of the highlights for us and definitely recommend it.

Response from the operator: Hello Amanda, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re absolutely delighted to hear that you had such a wonderful time on our Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise. It’s especially rewarding to know that our crew played a part in making your experience even more enjoyable. We truly appreciate your kind words and look forward to welcoming you back for another unforgettable Island Routes adventure in the near future. Best, IR Experience.

Fun Times in the Sun...High Caliber Crew!

I visited Sandals Negril as part of a destination wedding party. Our party opted to book the Island Routes Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise, a four-hour excursion along the beautiful Negril coastline of Jamaica. Island Routes is a Sandals-approved vendor offering a curated selection of off-the-beaten-path experiences across nine Caribbean islands. We set sail aboard a luxurious 65-foot catamaran, offering stunning views of the world-famous Seven Mile Beach and the historic cliffs, including the Negril Lighthouse. While on the catamaran, we enjoyed an open bar and live DJ to keep the atmosphere lively with island beats. The cruise included stops at Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville for lunch and fun in the sun and water and Rick's Café, a legendary location for cliff jumping and spectacular views, drinks, and vibes. I highly recommend the experience, as the crew was friendly and engaging, the music was lively, and the overall atmosphere was fun. Additionally, during our disembarkation to Rick's Cafe, the crew acted quickly and effectively to assist with an emergency that required a medical evacuation. Their ability to meet the needs of the ill passenger while ensuring clear communication with the rest of the guests really spoke to the professionalism, training, and dedication of the Island Routes staff in prioritizing guest safety even during unexpected situations.

Response from the operator: Hello, Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review! We're thrilled to hear you had a great time on the catamaran cruise and that the atmosphere, crew, and overall vibe made it a memorable part of your trip. Your kind words about our team's professionalism and attentiveness mean a lot. Guest safety and enjoyment are always our top Priorities. We truly appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you on another adventure soon! Best, IR Experience

    Thanks, Travees!

Travees made the trip to Rick's Cafe, brilliantly looking after my wife and I. The sailing trip is worth every penny, and they even stop the catamaran to snorkel. Go!

Response from the operator: Hello Ben, Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had a worthwhile experience on our Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise. It’s especially great to know that Travees was a highlight of your trip; we'll be sure to pass along your kind words! We look forward to welcoming you back for another fun-filled adventure. Over the top annoying on noise, kids, and cruise director

When I tried to get on ship with an expired passport and was asked to submit a birth certificate, I ended up calling home and having it texted to me.. then emailed to the ship. It was a fairly good process, and I was able to board the ship with my family. This ship which stopped in Key West and Progreso MX was a family-oriented party ship. It was great for people who like LOUD music and lots of annoying kids splashing, running, jumping, etc. My family with little kids loved it. The food was mediocre at best, and fruit consisted only of bananas, grapefruits, and apples... No berries.. lots of mediocre tasting cakes and soft ice cream. Theater was a 5/10 at best... one comedian was pretty funny.. compared to other ships this was a 3/10. The cruise director (CJ/ ZJ?). from Australia was totally annoying with her gravelly voice and constant repetitive reminders about ship stuff. Rooms were freezing cold and were not able to be warmed up. One of my family's cabins had shower drain back ups that were never fixed despite repeated requests. Dining in dining room involved hassled kind of annoyed waiters... It took forever to get 2 birthday cakes we ordered to actually arrive at the table on 2 separate nights...They also did not want to change a rectangular table for 10 to a round table for us.. but I insisted.. and they finally agreed. GMAB! The one adult pool was an oasis away from all the kids.... Getting off the boat worked ok...as well as embarking again. I would not go on this cruise again unless forced to do so by my family with all the kids! lol!

Response from the operator: Hello Susan, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We’d like to clarify that our Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise is a single-day, 4-hour excursion that sails along the scenic coastline of Negril, showcasing some of the area’s most famous historical highlights. The cruise you described doesn’t align with the details of our offerings. We completely understand how easily experiences can be confused, and we appreciate your feedback. Should you visit Negril again, we’d love to welcome you aboard for the authentic Island Routes Catamaran experience. Best, IR Experience

Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Negril.

How much does Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville cost?

    +

Prices start at $140 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Negril usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Negril is not rushed.

Is Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Negril, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Negril can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Negril and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Negril Highlights Catamaran Cruise With Stop At Margaritaville start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Negril within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Negril?

    +

On Outty we rank every Negril experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Transportation and Tour from Montego Bay to Blue Hole/Secret Falls, Negril Glass Bottom Boat Tour Snorkeling and Booby Cay, ATV, Bamboo Rafting and Negril Ricks Cafe from Montego Bay. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Negril?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Negril?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
