    12th Steet Walk

Mathew was very knowledgeable and passionate about the area. He was more then willing to entertain questions and allow the conversations to be enjoyable and yet never really getting off track. If you are looking for an additional activity while in Nashville you will not be disappointed if you book with Mathew for this wonderful and entertaining walk up and down 12th street S.

Response from the operator: Thank you David for booking with us and for walking 12South - It was truly wonderful to have you. I so appreciate your kind words as well. Hope to see you on one of our other tours as we grow the business!

Music Row History Brought to Life

I thoroughly enjoyed the Music Row tour with Footnotes Nashville Walking Tours! It was such a fun and interesting way to learn more about the history behind one of Nashville's most iconic neighborhoods. Our guide, Matthew, was knowledgeable, personable, and full of wonderful stories, having lived in the neighborhood for many years. I especially loved seeing the historic buildings and learning about the important moments that happened right there on streets we might otherwise have simply walked past. The tour was well paced, informative, and entertaining from beginning to end--and comfortably shaded on a hot summer day. I would highly recommend Footnotes Nashville Walking Tours to anyone who wants to experience Music Row in a more meaningful way.

Walking tours are our favorite way to learn about a city

Our family celebrated sending our oldest off to college with a group of friends and a walking tour with Footnotes Nashville Walking Tours. We always prioritize walking tours when we travel, so I’m thrilled to now have something similar in Nashville that we can recommend to visitors. Having grown up in Nashville, I visited the original Country Music Hall of Fame, and have driven the Music Row route countless times, I often take for granted about this city and its rich music history. It was so much fun hearing the stories and connecting Nashville’s music history to the buildings and neighborhoods we see all the time. Matthew was engaging and incredibly knowledgeable, and his bingo game was a huge hit with the youngest members of our group! Whether you’re entertaining out-of-town guests or simply looking for something unique and interesting to do with family and friends, I highly recommend Footnotes Nashville Walking Tours.

    Perfect tour of Nashville!

There is nothing like a tour from someone who deeply loves and nerds out on the intricacies of a city! Matthew’s tour was a wonderful experience and value. He is such a resource for a wonderful city. This tour was a wonderful family experience. Highly recommend if you love the music of Nashville, want to know more about this city, or enjoy niche facts about its wonderful history!

Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Nashville.

How much does Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Nashville usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Nashville is not rushed.

Is Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Nashville, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nashville can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nashville and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Nashville within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Nashville?

    +

Nashville's activity mix is unusually music-heavy: Ryman and Opry backstage tours, RCA Studio B sessions, songwriter rounds and honky-tonk crawls on Broadway. Around that sit distillery runs to Lynchburg and general-admission pedal taverns. Outty Ranking penalises the crawl operators that oversell group size, which is the most common complaint in this city. On Outty we rank every Nashville experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Nashville: Authentic Food Tour with 5 Tastings of Local Dishes, Nashville's Wildest Honky Tonk Public Party Bus (21+), Nashville RCA Studio B & Country Music Hall of Fame Ticket Combo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Nashville?

    +

April to May and September to October, when patios open and the humidity drops. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Nashville?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Nashville's 12South Walking Tour Experience?

    +

Included: Snacks. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

    +

It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
