    Fun feeding the deer

Had a wonderful time with my daughter and enjoyed the deer and their surroundings. It was so fun feeding and seeing all the beautiful nature. Our guide Mark was wonderful and was full of interesting information.

Response from the operator: Dear Ricardo, Thank you very much for your wonderful review. We are delighted to hear that you and your daughter enjoyed feeding the deer and discovering Nara’s beautiful nature with Mark. We are also glad his interesting explanations made the day more enjoyable. Despite the very hot weather, we hope the memories of Nara will stay with you both. Best regards, MY Travel Consulting Taka

The tour company does not understand what it takes for a private guided tour to a historical place.

When tourists go visiting a country and choose a private tour guide to a city with great significance, the intent is to have insights, historical and cultural. Our tour lacked this completely. The guide was too new to the place to offer any insights. What the tour company missed completely is understanding what tourists like us expect from a private guided tour and selecting the right guide. Deeply disappointing. If I could figure out how to get to Nara and back by train, I wouldn’t need the tour at all. I don’t know what the tour company was thinking.

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for joining our tour. However, we sincerely apologize that there was a mismatch between the guide and your expectations, and that we were unable to provide a satisfactory experience. We deeply regret that, despite the valuable time you dedicated to this tour, we failed to meet your expectations. We take your feedback very seriously and, moving forward, we will assign only the best guides — those with sufficient knowledge and experience — based on stricter selection criteria, so you can feel confident in our services. We are committed to improving the quality of our services to ensure peace of mind for all future guests. Thank you again for sharing your valuable feedback with us. Summer

Ha sido un placer para nosotros formar parte de un viaje tan importante, y esperamos que su luna de miel en Japón haya estado llena de alegría y momentos inolvidables. Trip from Kyoto to Nara

Our tour guide Akiko Okada made the day trip to Nara full of history, culture and a beautiful experience for my husband and I. We did not want it to end. She went above and beyond to share her knowledge with us and make us feel comfortable and engaged. We had several tours over the last 10 days and none were like this one. We loved Nara as well and would not have wanted to miss it.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review. We're absolutely delighted to hear that your day in Nara with Aki was such a memorable experience for you and your husband. It means a great deal to know that her deep knowledge, care, and thoughtful guidance made the tour truly special. We're especially honored to hear that this stood out among the many tours you've taken in the past 10 days. Nara is indeed a beautiful and culturally rich destination, and we're so glad you had the chance to experience it in such a meaningful way. We hope to welcome you back to Japan again in the future for more unforgettable moments. Best wishes, Manami

A Wonderful Experience through the Nara Temples/Shrines

Jun was an amazing guide, extremely friendly and accommodating. We had an amazing time walking the temples, feeding the deer, and even made an additional stop to help me find a souvenir for my family. Everything was well organized, but flexible to our wants and pace.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind feedback. We're so pleased to hear that you had such a wonderful time exploring with Jun. It’s great to know that walking through the temples, feeding the deer, and even finding a special souvenir for your family all added to the experience. We're especially glad that Jun's friendly and accommodating approach made the tour both well-organized and flexible to your pace. We truly appreciate your words and hope to welcome you back to Japan for another memorable journey! Best wishes, Manami

Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kyoto.

How much does Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $340 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kyoto usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kyoto is not rushed.

Is Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kyoto, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kyoto can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kyoto and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Nara Day Trip from Kyoto with a Licensed Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kyoto within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kyoto?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kyoto experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kyoto : Gion Make Your Own Chopsticks with Engraving Option, Award-Winning Authentic Ramen Making Experience in Kyoto, Hidden Kyoto E-Biking tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kyoto?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kyoto?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
