    Pompeii worth the day 🙏

Pompeii was absolutely worth visiting, but the overall organization of this tour was disappointing. The meeting point provided forced me to take a taxi that cost €16. Later, I discovered that the tour bus was picking up passengers at Piazza Garibaldi, right next to my hotel. This information should have been made clear from the start.Throughout the day there were several changes of guides, which made the experience feel disorganized. The guided visit of Pompeii was very rushed, and at one point some participants became separated from the group because of the pace. The Spanish-speaking guide also made several jokes and negative comments about French people that I found unnecessary and unprofessional. Visitors come to learn about Pompeii and its history, not to hear stereotypes or criticisms of other nationalities.Lunch was included, but I had to ask about it myself. The meal at the Swiss Café was below expectations, and the salad served was warm, as if it had been prepared long before. Sorrento was beautiful, but the time there was much shorter than expected and did not allow enough time to visit the waterfront area shown in the tour's promotional photos. Overall, Pompeii made the excursion worthwhile, but the organization, communication and time management need significant improvement.

    Must see..just prepare for crowds

The group size is pretty large for such a crowded venue. Tour guide was experienced and knowledgeable. She was an engaging and good storyteller.

Great trip to Pompeii & Sorento

The trip to Pompeii was well worth it. Our guide was very informative, and she was well qualified to answer questions as we made our way. The site was so interesting. The trip to Sorrento was relaxing.

    Great tour guide, bad ortanization

Martina was a great guide at Pompeii. Very knowledgeable and she shared the information in a helpful way. The rest of the trip, checking in, getting there and then leaving was a disorganized mess. We were supposed to go to Sorrento but didn’t get to because we were short on time. If they hadn’t been so disorganized we wouldn’t have been short on time. Book another company. Our other Viator tours have been very good. This one was not.

    Very disorganized. Our...

Very disorganized. Our skip the line tickets were in a different bus. We booked the full day with Pompeii and then a trip to Sorrento. Due to the disorganization we ended up only having 1 hour in Sorrento with an audio guide that we could not even get to all the places in the one hour time frame. We were looking forward to the time there but we were so rushed and worried about the time that it was stressful. We did enjoy our driver to Sorrento who made sure we got back to the ship with 1/2 hour to spare.

Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip cost?

    +

Prices start at $14 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 200 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip?

    +

Around 70 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Naples Shore Excursion: Pompeii and Sorrento Day Trip start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
