This is not well planned...
This is not well planned out. We thought we would be doing a tour with a group of people all doing the same itinerary, but we were not. I don't want to sound entitled, but the driver spoke no English and we spoke little Italian which also contributed to a lot of confusion. He would have to call his tour company to translate. We missed part of tour because we had people who needed to be back to their cruise ship by a certain time.

Don't miss Pompeii!
Absolutely fascinating and delightful tour of Pompeii, highly recommended. Tour guide was excellent. For good reason this site is one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Just the plaster body casts of the victims of Vesuvio makes this trip worthwhile, and the detail in the architecture is stunning.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We look forward to seeing you again!

Just a driver- not a tour!
this tour is well built. they take you to 3 main attractions and leave you there with enough time to explore it yourself. so far, the good part... but that's it! yhus is NOT a tour! the driver doesnt say a word while driving, like talking about pompei or somehistory or bqckground- nothing! also, the driver just leave you and go without checking if you managed to get it (or do you have enough water)... so if you want a pure driver- this is an expensive option... if you want a tour- this is not it!

Loved every second!
Our driver was clear on where and when to pick up. We prefer being able to go at our own pace and this was exactly that. There was enough time at each place that you didn't feel rushed. Only issue was no exact time for a proper lunch so make sure you avail yourself of the cafés at Pompeii as they had the best choices.

Money driven driver
driver turned up in taxi van for tour. On taking us to Pompeii the group of 8 was informed we had to get a map and audio guide from the tourist office across the street to get entry for 10 euros each. On giving over tickets we were all given a free complimentary map to use. The guide then took us to Vesuvius and asked that if everyone paid him 5 euros each he'd stop at a restaurant he used with his family for dinner. When asked what they sold he couldn't tell us. We refused. On returning the guide took us to Herculaneum without speaking to us at all apart from saying he wasn't staying and another driver would come for us - but he would have stayed for the 40 euros. This isn't a tour. This is a driver that dumps you at each location without talking about it once. Ideally I want at least a part refund for the drivers behaviour and the pointless audio guides. Hopefully I'll get a productive response
Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, everyone's opinion is important.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.
How much does Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.
Is Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 33 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Naples: Pompeii, Herculaneum, and Vesuvius Tour by Minivan start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Naples?
+
On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Naples?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Naples?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
