Great guide!-But not lived up to description
Our guide was very nice, fun, & personable! The sake tasting was great. We learned a lot about sake and got to try quite a few. The disappointing part is that the tour description says it included miso tasting & little nibbles. We were not offered that
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind comments about our guide and the sake tasting. We’re glad you enjoyed learning about sake and trying the different varieties. The miso tasting and nibbles are included in the tour, and we’re sorry they were not offered during your experience. While the flow may occasionally change depending on timing and guests’ preferences, the opportunity to try them should still have been clearly offered. We’ll review this with our team and make sure it is communicated more clearly in the future.

Book this tour when you are in Nagano!
Me and my partner had a wonderful tour with Masa-san this morning around Nagano. We saw some lovely sights around town, with in depth questions and answers from Masa-san. We also had a chance to stop off in a traditional oyaki shop, before exploring the stunning Zenjōji temple. The sake tasting after the fact was simply a huge bonus! Learning about the different types of Sake and then tasting them was an insightful experience. Overall it was a great time, with an excellent tour guide, who even dropped us off at his favourite soba restaurant per our request! Thank you Masa-san!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your wonderful review and for joining us this morning in Nagano. We’re truly delighted to hear you enjoyed exploring the city with Masashi, especially the stop at the traditional oyaki shop and your visit to Zenkoji Temple. It’s also great to know the sake tasting felt like a “huge bonus” and that learning about different styles of sake made the experience even more memorable. We also appreciate your kind words about the in-depth Q&A during the tour, and we’re glad we could help with your request to be dropped off at a soba restaurant to finish the day in a local way. Thank you again for choosing o8Experience, and we hope to welcome you back to Nagano in the future. Warm regards, o8Experience

Amazing sake experience
The guide was amazing. He was born in Nagano but travels a lot and speaks very good English. He told us many things about Nagano and about sake. A 5/5 experience!

He truly loves sharing both his hometown of Nagano and his travel insights, and we’re glad his knowledge of sake and local culture made the tour memorable for you. We really appreciate the 5/5 review and hope to welcome you again on your next visit!

Nagano walking tour & sake tasting
Enjoyable walking tour with a knowledgeable, friendly guide. Learnt lots about the Zenkoji temple. Fun sake tasting and learning about the different types of sake depending on the how much rice had been polished. Only reason for not 5 stars is the tour should have included photos, which it did not!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share your feedback. To address your comment upfront — due to the exceptionally heavy rain on the day of your tour, we were unfortunately unable to provide photo support. We always aim to take pictures for our guests whenever conditions allow, but in this instance, the weather made it unfeasible. We sincerely regret any disappointment this may have caused. As the conditions were particularly challenging that day, we also arranged a vehicle to make the experience more comfortable — even though it wasn’t part of the standard setup and not something we mentioned at the time. Still, we’re very happy to hear you enjoyed the sake tasting and the stories behind the brewing process. We’d love to welcome you again on a sunnier day — with photos next time. Warmest regards,

Is Nagano Sake Tasting Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 35 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Nagano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Is Nagano Sake Tasting Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book Nagano Sake Tasting Walking Tour?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Nagano can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Nagano and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Nagano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Nagano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
