    About this experience

Cities are not only defined by their historical landmarks. There are other stories, more hidden, embedded in the subconscious of its inhabitants, who sometimes draw them better than their own streets and squares. Get to know them with us on a tour that, for two hours, will show you "the B side" of the capital of Spain. After starting in the Plaza de Pontejos we will go to the Plaza de la Provincia, from where we will discover the mysteries that the Madrid Metro hides. Later we will enter the neighborhood of La Latina, one of the oldest and that treasures more stories of the city. On the tour of this neighborhood we will talk about the origins of the city, the crimes that devastated its streets or the strange miracles attributed to its patron saint. The Cathedral, the Plaza de Oriente and the Convento de la Encarnación will culminate the tour. A tour in which not even the Holy Inquisition will get rid of being part of a story that will shed some light on the shadows of Madrid.

    Extraordinary!

I have already done several tours with Todo Tours with different guides (the ones I remember are Lara for Malasaña and Chueca, with Zalo for La Latina and Lavapiés, and another with Irán, I think it was the Mysteries and Legends one) and they were all excellent!!! Very good guides, very professional, the tours full of details, stories, anecdotes!! I will definitely book with Todo Tours again!!

    cancelled last moment, total disrespect

my long awaited tour was cancelled right when I was about to leave my hotel to go to the meeting point. "not enough people responded" was the explanation meaning "we won't make a lot of money, just a little, and we reject it", right? very very not cool.... and to add insult to injury they have audacity to ask me to write a review!!! hmmmm, so how should I rate it? you tell me....

Response from the operator: Hello Yelena. We are very sorry for the inconvenience, but the reservation conditions specify the requirement of reaching a minimum number of people, which unfortunately was not reached that day. On the other hand, on the rare occasions that something like this happens, we always give as much notice as possible. In this case, our message was in the morning, and the tour was scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. In any case, we understand the inconvenience and we hope that you were able to enjoy your stay in Madrid anyway. Regards.

    Engaging, easy stroll tour.

Had a fun filled tour with our guide, Jovan. Great historical knowledge with an effervescent, bubbly personality. The Monasterio del Corpus Christi is worth a try. Not what you’d expect. Engaging and entertaining.

    Excellent walking tour

Javon is very knowledgeable of the history of Madrid and Spain in general. He gave a very good historical overview as well as some fun tips and information about the city, where to eat and what to do. There were only five of us on the tour which I really appreciated after seeing very large tour groups all around the Plaza Mayor. He is a native English speaker which made it very easy to understand and converse with him.

Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.

How much does Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid cost?

    +

Prices start at $9 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.

Is Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 80 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid?

    +

Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mysteries and Legends Tour of Madrid start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Madrid?

    +

On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Madrid?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Madrid?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
