    Awesome day with Serena

A very educational day leaving me with a better understanding of this amazing country. I had my best meal of the week - Hot Pot was delicious. Serena was able to answer my many history questions and was very knowledgeable of the sites. I especially enjoyed our family, cultural and lifestyle discussions. I found it worth the price to be able to squeeze this itinerary in on a limited schedule. No waiting for others, no shopping excursions, meaningful discussions and we bypassed several long lines. Once in a lifetime. Thanks Serena! Danny.

What a magnificient day and once in a lifetime opportunity.

Angie is the absolute best guide! We were extremely lucky to have booked this wonderful tour with Angie to the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and Great Wall. She gave us a great overview of both the square and the Forbidden City in the morning part of the tour. We got to pass through easily into the City and she knew all the places to avoid to not get stuck like the rest of the visitors. She also does an in-depth version of the Forbidden City which I will have to do with her the next time I'm in Beijing. The Forbidden City was magnificent but the absolute highlight was the Great Wall. Having the opportunity to be able to go the private commune part of the wall and be the only people there was amazing. My wife and I and our three kids (7, 9 and 11) were so excited and had one of our best experiences vacationing here at the Wall. Highly highly recommend. The trip included a delicious Chinese lunch at the Commune hotel restaurant and our transportation was extremely comfortable and fun. The tour should have ended back at our hotel but Angie went out of her way at the end of the trip and accompanied us to local markets so we could do some souvenir shopping. She even walked us to the subway station and helped us get home afterwards even though our hotel was only two stops away. Thank you so much for being the best tour guide and best overall tour ever Angie.

    First time Visit

Maria our tour guide was amazing. We have a 2 year old daughter who has car sickness issues. Our driver was incredible driving us to our destination, so smooth not even noticed the heavy traffic. The van was clean, spacious and comfortable (its new so it’s a plus). We have car seat for our child which was great. We went to the square and walked to the forbidden city in the morning. Highly recommended to get it out of the way less crowded in December. Pictures just doesn’t do justice to appreciate the structures of the palace. Maria was brief to the point and just gives you the interesting history of the palace. We recommended to not bring stroller for your kid but a carry on. The Commune Wall was just breathtaking and incredible. We had a amazing lunch in a nice warm restaurant. The food was incredible, we let Maria order for us, all local food. Then we hike up the wall. Definitely wear comfortable shoes and it’s great to burn off all the good food you ate. We were in the Wall for hours by ourselves no interruptions. Great photo of our family on the Great Wall with no tourist. We appreciate the original Wall with no rebuilt. We recommend this tour, it’s a hidden gem.

Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Beijing.

How much does Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall cost?

    +

Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Beijing usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Beijing is not rushed.

Is Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Beijing, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Beijing can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Beijing and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mutianyu Great Wall Transfer, Ticket, Guided Tour with City Wall start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Beijing within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Beijing?

    +

On Outty we rank every Beijing experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mubus: Mutianyu Great Wall Bus Tour with Summer Palace Options, Beijing: Top 6 Highlights All Inclusive 2-Day Private Tour, Private Mutianyu Great Wall Trip With English-Speaking Driver. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Beijing?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Beijing?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
