Stop by and see the instruments used on hundreds of iconic songs, such as Joe Osborn’s Fender jazz bass used in hit songs by The Carpenters, Mamas and the Papas, The Grass Roots, and Simon and Garfunkel. Other notable exhibits include the control board from Jack’s Tracks Recording Studio where Garth Brooks recorded most of his hits, as well as the original stage where Jimi Hendrix once performed. The GRAMMY Museum Gallery® With the privacy of headphones, visitors can play electric drums, keyboard, bass, and guitar, or sing along with Ray Charles and the Raelettes, the all-girl group who provided backing vocals for the legendary musician. For those interested in what goes on behind the scenes in the studio, exhibits for songwriting, engineering, and producing allow Gallery attendees to get in the booth and see for themselves what it takes to cut a record. There are also interactive exhibits for singing, recording, and DJing, and a recording studio and rehearsal room for those who want the full recording experience.

This was absolutely amazing! It was better than the Country music hall of fame in my opinion. So much to see and read. It includes the Grammy Award hall of fame too! Interactive and fun!

All’s well that ends well !
I am a keen supporter of women’s rights. My wife is older than me and is from a generation of whom some were less driven by female emancipation. This means that she has always been happy with an allocation of tasks based on whether she deems them blue (male) or pink (female ). Previously she has stated that holiday planning is a blue job and I have been happy to comply. However a double strength cappuccino in downtown Nashville encouraged her to push new boundaries. Her bold decision was to make a booking to see all the country music star memorabilia at the nearby museum. I for one was happy for her to take charge and felt a weight lifted from my toned shoulders. Imagine my surprise however when we followed her rather dawdling route guidance and discovered she has booked the wrong museum! But but but it turned out to be a right museum in other ways. Lovely staff, instruments to bash out a tune on,spotless restrooms and fascinating music stories (although not particularly country). So alls well that ends well and she has gladly handed back the steering controls to future trip bookings ! Thanks Grandma !

We enjoyed learning about the backbone musicians of so many songs we love. This museum is an audio and visual delight with so many artifacts to experience. Truly a beautiful museum.
