A Cannot Miss Tour!!
This is a great tour - pace is good - not rushed and our tour guide Eliza was the BEST!! So knowledgeable but also really relatable!! My 20 something kids loved her!!

Not as described
We were driven by boat to the back of a glass making factory, 4 minutes looking at some blowing which was interesting then left in the showroom where items have no price, lots of obsequious sales people obviously waiting for someone with £10k to buy a chandelier. There was no walking tour, no tour guide and no return journey back to Venice - all of which are “included”. The tour operator help line was an AI called Marco Polo who was apologetically incapable of doing much but very “concerned” at our predicament. Thank you Marco. Eventually we rang the operator who advised us to return to the factory where we were unceremoniously, given we were clearly not the aforementioned chandelier buyer, returned by boat to the mainland. We are grateful it was sorted and it was nice to have a speedboat trip but this is a “not as described” product and it would have been nice to have a genuine visit of Murano’s fascinating history.

Fun and short
Lovely ride to Murano on a beautiful wooden taxi. The studio tour was interesting and that guide was very attentive and pleasant. Upstairs guide not so much. Shopping on the street was a blast. Go fast because you only end up with 1.5 hours. Not really a three hour trip.

Relaxed half day tour to the islands with everything organised for you. Claudia was a wonderful tour guide.
Claudia is a brilliant tour guide, funny, knowledgeable and warm. The tour itself is about 5 hours long, 45 minutes in Murano and 2 hours in Burano. The rest of the time is spent travelling by boat between the islands and Venice itself during which the tour guide tells you all about the history of the islands and interesting facts about the landmarks you pass on the way. The glass blowing demonstration is only 15 minutes long but is worth it to see how skilled the master glass blowers are. In Burano its nice to wonder around, try the artisanal baked goods and eat lunch. As a solo traveller its a good tour to do as everything is organised for you with some free time included. Only downside is I found it difficult to hear the tour guide through the earpiece you are given but if you sit near the tour guide on the boat this is not an issue. Would recommend!
