Detailed history of...
Detailed history of Munich. Fairly long walk. Guide was excellent. Entered many beautiful and interesting churches. Started at 12:30 right after Glockenspiel performance just across the Marienplatz.
Response from the operator: Hi Dean_G, Thanks for your thoughtful review. A walk through Munich’s Old Town after the Glockenspiel is always a great way to begin, and we’re happy you enjoyed the journey and the stories along the way. We’re especially glad your guide, David, made the experience memorable. Looking forward to welcoming you again. Regards, Rosotravel Team

Great Walking Tour of Munich
We caught a train to Marienplatz and walked to St Peter’s Church to meet our Walkative guide Alex for the “Munich Old Town” from 10:45 to 1:15 with a break at Hofbräuhaus for bathroom. We found out from Alex that no building in this area can be taller than the spires of St Peter's Church. May have to change that law as they need to build more housing to cut high costs. Alex did a great job of showing us the main sights in and around Old Town, although I thought he spent a little to long talking about the rise of Hitler and the Third Reich. He was easy to hear and explained things very clearly. Germany has 83 million people having just recently gained 1 million Syrians. Alex explained the “May Pole” and what it represents (seven beer breweries in the city). The Gothic City Hall is only 150 years old, but it looks so much older than the original city hall. The Glockenspiel sounds off at 1100, 1200, and 1700 each day. Hofbräuhaus is a state-owned brewery, so the restrooms are free. Alex pointed out #30 Feldhernhalle, a yellow building from 1844, near where Hitler got his start.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to leave your review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Munich Old Town Highlights tour with Alex. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about sharing both the history and unique stories of the city, and we’re glad that came through during your visit. It’s also great to hear that you appreciated the clear explanations and interesting details about the sights along the route. We hope to welcome you on another Rosotravel tour in the future! Best regards, Rosotravel Team

Wonderful way to see Old Town Munich in timely manner.
It was my first time in Munich and I wanted to see and learn as much as I could about the Old Town as possible in a short amount of time. Selecting this tour and having a guide like Victoria was incredible. Her knowledge and professionalism was superb. The pace was perfect and she even recommended two great restaurants with a more local vibe. Thank you Victoria.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.
How much does Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.
Is Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Munich: Old Town Highlights Private Walking Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
