An Incredibly Experience in Aurangabad
This was our first trip to western India. Ellora and Ajanta caves were the absolute highlight of our trip. There is a reason that Ellora caves is on the 20 rupee note! We booked our trip through Agora Voyages, the were excellent, and arranged every detail, from transportation to Aurangabad from Mumbai, to overnight lodging since we broke our trip into multiple days. The highlight our tour was our guide Sanjay. Sanjay was incredible knowledgeable, and tailored our trip to our experience. Aurangabad is off the path from the usual tourist destinations, and therefore having a knowledgeable guide (and driver) was essential. Sanjay was both an organized planner, and incredible knowledgeable. Many of the places have a rich cultural heritage, that could have been easily been overlooked without a guide pointing out (for Americans, you'll feel like Indiana Jones). Our experience in India was much richer for Sanjay. I would recommend trip to anyone who likes temples, archeology, and is looking for an experience that will create a once in a lifetime story.
Response from the operator: Dear Mr. James, Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that your trip to Aurangabad and your visit to the magnificent Ajanta and Ellora caves were the highlights of your journey. These awe-inspiring sites are indeed treasures of India's cultural heritage, and we're glad you had the chance to experience them firsthand. It’s great to know that you had a seamless experience with us at Agora Voyages, from the smooth transportation to the well-planned itinerary, which allowed you to fully enjoy the sights. We're especially pleased that Sanjay, your guide, made such a lasting impact on your trip. His passion and knowledge are truly invaluable when exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations like Aurangabad. We strive to create meaningful and personalized experiences for all our travelers, and it’s feedback like yours that reassures us we’re on the right track. We're grateful for your kind words and high recommendation. Should you decide to return to India for more adventures or explore other remarkable destinations, we’d love to assist you again. Warm regards, Meenakshi

Disappointed in change of guides
We enjoy the start of our tour however we had to change guides due to them being required for another group. The original guide was great however after the caves the second guide just left us to our devices which was a little worrying in a strange location/country. we believe if we had the same guide the entire time it would have been a much better experience. i wouldn't recommend this tour if your aren't guaranteed the same guide as the driver had little english

How far in advance should I book Mumbai to Aurangabad: Ajanta & Ellora with Return Flights?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Mumbai to Aurangabad: Ajanta & Ellora with Return Flights start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mumbai?
+
On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mumbai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mumbai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
